I don't think there's anything automatic about the left leg straightening because of the hip turn. Yes, I think it's facilitated by a good turn, weight shift, etc., but I'd be leery of the idea that your left leg will essentially straighten on its own as a result of anything else.

I believe the lead leg straightening is tied to the lead hip working around/away from the target after initial lateral shift. I hope to know more about how much there's an actual push up from the ground. When I try to push up from a loaded lead foot I just stand up and almost miss the ball.

You know I kind of suspect that if Rory was not famous and posted that swing here he would get a lot of advice on how to correct his swing.

I think that's the funniest thing around here.  People critique PGA players swings all the time about how they could get rid of their miss or swing better.  They can't figure out how to get their own swing working, but can see on 2D video the missing link for a PGA player.

Thanks, although I do not know what early extension means.

The OP's swing has some positive attributes and to make it better I suggest the following:

 

1) at address have the body weight equally balanced (currently weight is much too much favoring the left side).

2) adopt a more neutral grip (currently the OP is manipulating both his left and right wrist which is causing his shoulders at address to be too open to the target line).

Feeling something new at range today. This is about 50% effort and feeling super super exaggerated but almost looks like I’m on to something. 
 

What you think? It feels so weird, wrong, and exaggerated that I don’t want to pursue something that will put me down the wrong track.
