Odyssey Ai-ONE: the real deal..?

Anyone with additional feedback on the Stepless Black and Bi-matrix Navy shafts?

 

Preference would be for feedback from those who tried/used either version of the red SL shafts previously. Going to try some other stores later this week maybe but only got my hands on the new Ai-ONE steel and it felt noticeably different than the red SLs and I wasn't a fan of the new steel after comparing them back-to-back.

Just bought some tungsten putty to put in the weight cavity. How many grams have people been putting in there as a starting point? I bought 1 oz, not sure how much is typical.

Received this bad boy on Wednesday and took it out for it's maiden voyage today. LOVED it and I'm thinking I'm a sight dot guy for sure.

Not sure of the exact model because its the stock option and details are lacking on Odysseys' site, but its a genuine leather GripMaster grip with the stitching on the back. Its a little slippery and smooth right now, but I know with a little time and patina it should become a nice soft supple leather with patina. Think I might treat it like a baseball glove and accelerate the patina process with some coconut or mink oil or something...

A good wipe down with a damp cloth should bring some tack back to it.

It was only used for a couple rounds before I got it, so I dont think it had any tack to begin with lol! Still got that slippery new leather feel....but I'll work on it!

Gutted that they're launching a 2-ball Jailbird now. Was completely torn between the Jailbiard and 2-Ball AI-One putters when purchasing at the start of summer, with performed great in testing but I found myself wishing I could have the feel of the Jailbird with the visual of the 2-Ball. 

 

Anyway, went with the Jailbird and do enjoy it but I'm feeling disheartened that there's now a 2-Ball Jailbird and, as with anything 2nd hand, trade in value on the Jailburd AI has tanked.
