They probably were. I meant to reach out after the first battery but I had a back-up. Seemed like more of an inconvenienve than to just switch it out.  Once that one had also stopped holding power, I decided to give up. This same thing happened to my brother with his battery between both of mine. Some people seem to not have this experience, but I was just sharing mine. I am choosing to go ahead and purchase a MGI or MotoCaddy instead.

I had two batteries for the Alphard, since the battery only lasts for 27 holes max.  I would have one charging while the other was installed in the V2.  Used the batteries for two seasons and had no issue with either.

Any long term reviews for the Motocaddy M3 GPS? I was leaning towards a model with a remote, but with the current sale, the M3 is half the price of the M7 remote. I used a push version, not sure which model, of the Motocaddy in Scotland last year and really liked it. Might be time to retire the manual push Clicgear after 10+ years.

I have 2 batteries for the Alphard V2 that I rotate every other round.  I still have my original battery from the first load Alphard had of the V2 that I received in August of 2020.

Not many updates in this thread but I'll just say I went from the M3 Pro that I had for 5 seasons or so to the M7 Remote and...I wouldnt get a remote again. It works fine, it does everything it says it should, I have had no technicaly problems. Personally I just like hanging onto the cart to either lean on or listen to music. Plus my club is a pretty tight course, I dont have a lot of places I would just send the thing.

Next time I'll be going back to a non remote model.

That's what is so cool about this game. There's so many different ways to play it and so many cool equipment choices. I've got the MGI Quad Zip and for the courses I play I love the remote. It took a while to get used to it but now that I am it's awesome. Going to a electric trolley is the best decision I've ever made.

I got a Motocaddy M3 GPS DHC in January this year and really like it.  It was on sale for $899 shipped and no taxes plus accessories so it was basically half the price of the models with remotes.  I pushed a manual cart for 10+ years so I have no issues holding / guiding the M3 and I've seen plenty of people dump and tip over their remote models from various brands.

I've never seen anyone tip one over but if they did it's on them, not the remote.

Depends.

So the M7 has a third tip-wheel and it is absolutely impossible to tip over, its the whole point of having the middle wheel. Impossible.

BUT - if you dont have a wheel like that or if you park this thing between holes and have it meet you in next fairway? Absolutely easy for it to hit a tree root, pop a wheelie and flip over. Very easy.

This is the one I've been looking at. Does the GPS cost extra? In looking at the newer ones it looks like some portion of the GPS service or some part of it is an additional cost per year.

I've had the BatCaddy X3R for a while and it is great, much cheaper that most, bought mine on their black Friday sale, it was only 399, no issues and it is wide enough that "so far" have not tipped it over, for the price it is a steal...

You must play on very flat courses.  All of the models have static and dynamic rollover limits and will tip over if those limits are exceeded.

🤣 There's not a flat lie on any course I play. My main course is called park hills for a reason.

Absolutely! I guess I just assumed everybody got the wheelie bar wheel. It's essential. If they don't offer the third wheel I would never buy it.

When I bought my non-remote mgi x1 a few years ago, I thought it was the best golf purchase I'd ever made - and now I find I rarely use it.  I hate to sell it "just in case", but after I went to a "minimalist" bag of nine clubs, what I found works well for me is a bag by "Revolve" that has attachable wheels and an extendable handle that works like a suitcase, so no more lugging the bag, cart, and battery around then having to assemble and disassemble them (yes, I'm that lazy).  I just toss the bag in the car and I'm set, and when I get to the course, I pull it out, extend the handle, and I'm ready to ruin another day in no time.  It pulls or pushes quite easily.  Kind of annoying to have the electric sitting idle, but that's where I am for now.

That's cool! There's a lot of different ways to play the game and a guy has to find what the best way for them is. I'm 71 and recently retired and getting my electric trolley has made golfing fun again. I also get a great workout because walking the courses around this area ain't an easy walk.

I'm nearly 64, so hopefully have a few years of easy walking yet.  A buddy I play with who is your age has a remote electric that he claims is the only reason he can still walk.

Anyone have the Mgi ai gps model? I’m looking at the Costco at version if it goes on sale or the one with gps. Don’t need gps but with the battery in center it looks even more stable for hills. About a 225.00 difference when on sale. Thanks!

I purchased the MGI Ai GPS model about a month ago.  I absolutely love it.  Super easy to take down and set up, and it's super smooth and quick.  I did try out my friend's AT, and the main differences between the Ai and AT version is the built in GPS app, and center placement of the battery on the Ai version.  I would also consider the button layout on the remote a little more user friendly.  You can't go wrong with either model, especially if you can find the AT model on sale at Costco.

I appreciate the feedback on both models. I’ll wait a little while to see if Costco has another sale. I read they have it a few times a year but the only time I could dig up was Christmas. Maybe a masters or father day sale. If not I’ll probably grab the gps version.

thanks man!

$899 seems like a good price, just ordered it. Should be able to sell the remote model for about that much locally - and hey I can sell my Garmin S70 now too.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just had sticker shock looking at the Costco site.  Their Christmas sale is unfortunately a long time from now.  Just joined a course where an electric cart would be great, so doing my research.  Newer course, so probably not mapped by the Ai version yet.

I think they have it 2-3 times a year from what I’ve researched, Christmas time being the most consistent. The others is random. I was hoping for a masters sale but maybe memorial or Father’s Day. Otherwise will look for a 15% off code somewhere else that sells them online..

I just picked up the Alphard v2 and Omni cart bundle. Several people in our group have them and all seem pleased with them. I’ve used it for 27 holes now (one nine hole and one 18 hole round) and am very happy with it. I need to add a better cup holder (my big soda bottles don’t fit) and figure out where to carry the sand bottle. But I found it very easy to get comfortable with the remote, and it only takes a couple minutes to assemble and take apart after the round.

My one question, if anyone knows, I had just added a seat to my ClicGear4 and I’m wondering if it will fit on the Omni cart. One of the guys had a seat on his, it said Rovic on it, but the seat and bracket looked identical to the CligGear.
