Remote video lesson-Which platform do you use?

The Golf Live App is great.  They have great tech for you to do live lessons with any instructor using their platform.  You can schedule a lesson in advance with a professional of your choice or you can hop on the app and get a lesson on demand.  They record the lesson for you and you can go back and watch it whenever you want.  Its great because you can have live conversations with your professional and get a better feedback of what you are trying to accomplish than some of the apps that have you send in one video and wait for their response.  

 

They are in the process of rolling out their new app now but I have had great experiences with them and think this is the future of golf instruction for those that don't have immediate access to a teaching pro.

I haven't used it myself, but my buddy recommended Swing Tweaks.  Might try that and/or Skillest

CoachNow is awesome. It allows you to annotate the video and slow to 1/8 speed. My coach and I have had great success using this.

I went from Skillest to Golf Live. I liked skillest but I do like how GolfLive records the lesson as well.

Skillset has been great as a platform, but I will say I don’t think the value is there for a LOT of the instruction. I’d far and away rather pay for an in person lesson if it’s available. The quick swing eval and a drill style lesson does not hold the value of the little tweaks and feels you can get from even a 30min in person lesson with video sent to you afterwards.

I agree with this but the one lesson I did do on Skillset I was very happy with.  That instructor throws out a free tip each week to everyone which is a nice touch.  I thought the messaging app and way videos were stored was nicely done.

Oh don’t get me wrong, when you find a guy who clicks with you, it’s great! The app and platform itself is very well done, I use it all the time to film my swing and make sure what I’m trying to work on is actually happening.

 

I’m working with a coach on Skillest who offers an unlimited monthly deal and it bridges the gap between in person and remote nicely, what he offers me has improved my game tremendously. I’m very happy with him and the app! I’ve also had in person lessons that were a waste, so it’s definitely more about the coach than the platform. It just might take a few different coaches to find who provides you with the instruction and value you are looking for.

 

I just know (for me specifically at my skill level) I’d get more out of a 2 one hour or even half hour lessons with my coach in person than I would over the course of videos back and forth for a month… but the value I’m currently receiving outshines my local offerings dollar for dollar. You just might pay for an overpriced swing analysis a couple times before you find the right coach, I just wish I could have him in person.

I'm right there with you.  Overall I prefer the in person lesson as well.  As you have mentioned, just the ability for them to adjust on the fly and react to what you are doing and talking about makes it more effective.  More bang for your buck for sure.

I think it’s $100 for individual and that’s simple enough.  It’s accurate enough to assist the student in making changes.  The most valuable feature to the student will be the prioritization and then monitoring of parameters immediately after each swing.

Skillest user here.  Wide range of coaches and prices.  The app itself is easy to use and you can use it to do your own analysis/monitoring.  Hardest part is picking/finding the right coach - lots of different styles and personalities on it.
