Takomo 301MB....

So, took a flyer and picked up a set of these Takomo 301MB irons. Built to my lie and length specifications and with KBS C Taper 120S shafts. Forged from soft Japanese S20C steel. Same as used in Miura, etc. 

 

First impressions were that the build quality was solid. No obvious small or noticeable issues or defects. Grips installed properly. Took them to the simulator and had a session with them. Impressed. These things are like butter. Slightly wider sole than many other MB clubs, ala 718MB or P7TW. Has a preworn leading edge and the combination of a little wider sole and the edge makes these the most forgiving MBs I've hit. Felt great. I've included some pics, including a comparison of the sole width between my current gamers, PXG 0311Ts and these. 

 

For anyone looking for a set of MBs that is somewhat affordable, these are pretty sweet.

I really want a set, they keep saying lefty heads will be available "soon". I wonder if it's the same blank as my Haywood MB's because they look very similar. My Haywood's are epic.

Believe its the same, a few articles last few months...sold under 3,4,5 names, same Chinese blank.

I would figure. It's a solid blank, I say it's one of my favorite blades and I've had some damn good blades.

Those are the fake Miura MB101's. I got a set of lefties that looked awesome, but I never played them before I returned them. I should have kept them and might buy another set to actually play. 

 

I'm curious if these might also be the same blank.

I have a set of the 101Ts and love them.  They replaced my P790s but I would love to build a set of these pure MB’s to put in the bag for fun.

Really got the blade itch and think these would be the best way to scratch it the most economical way. Any recent or long term reviews on these blades?
