I have the driver and love it. The 3 wood is next on my list of things to buy that I really don’t need.

Has anyone compared the Gen6 XF fwy to the black ops fwy?

I went to a fitting today at my local PXG store and put an order in for the 17 degree black ops 4 wood.  I really like the shape of the head and I got great numbers paired with a stock Hzrdus Black 4G 70 6.0 shaft.  
 

Funny enough even with the busy graphics I prefer the look of this club head over my current TSR2 16.5 which will be going on the classifieds soon.

 

However, I did not like the 7 wood at all.  I prefer the look of my TSR1 20 degree plus my TSR1 had way better numbers

@5yddraw how was spin and launch compared to your tsr2?

The black ops gave me higher spin, peak height, and a better descent angle which is what I need.  I was losing distance with TSR2 because I wasn’t spinning it enough.  I also had higher ball speed and carry/total distance with the black ops.  
 

The only stat that was better with my TSR2 was smash factor.  My club and ball speeds were slower with TSR2 but slightly more efficient.

These are the first fairways I've put in the bag that arent Callaway in a long time. More testing to do but the 7w test earlier this week was a big success.

Yeah same as the Callaway setup I had but since the 7w is adjustable I can play a 6 wood like I want to. Sound/feel/etc all great so far.

Can let you know about 4w numbers tomorow I'll have may LM with me at the range.

 

I had the 3 wood and turned it up 1* but didnt like it. 

 

I still dont have my preferred shaft (AD UB) but I'm going a H2H with the Smoke 3HL. If theyre close I'll pull the shaft from the Smoke and test the PXG BO again with it.

Wasnt getting the visual flight and numbers (wasnt much better than the "6w" in distance) I wanted from it. My bad swings are very neutral, if not positive AOA, and they were super low with the 3w and 3w+1. We'll see what happens with the 17* head. IIRC theyre the same size?

 

It's also my first time with the PXG triple weight config so I have to figure that out. I generally put weight very neutral and back in the heads when I add lead tape or etc. Right now I'm using the heel and toe slots or even 10g in all 3 slots and idk what thats doing to spin and launch.

The PXG BO woods are insanely forgiving.

I would have never thought I'd play a PXG club, but theyre in the bag.

 

Adjustability, spin retention (forgiveness), looks, feel, sound. For me; this line has it all.

 

I didnt put the ZX MK II in the bag and I kept the Callaways going. This is the first brand to kick Callaway woods out of my bag in years.

I play both 4w and 7w, to me they are the best overall FW I have ever played. Very forgiving and when struck well go high and straight. Very easy to hit out of the rough.

I was *so* close to buying this exact combo, plus the 5H as my next longest club. Been meaning to go back to my local PXG store and do that, actually. The Black Ops woods are really impressive.

I'm trying to find a 9 wood but apparently no one has bought one yet and put it up resale 😂

How is the gapping working out for you? Does your long end go 4W, 7W, 5H or is there anything else in that mix?

I'm not a long hitter by any means. 13HC 4w-carry 180-185  7w 165-170 5h just 1 round 155-160. All very forgiving.

Ordered a 15. Hit the 15 @15 and 17 @16 in a bunch of different configs. 

 

Currently gaming paradym 3d that I like a lot. I play it +1.

 

Black ops at 15 gave .5 higher launch and overall spin avg 300 rom lower while matching ballspeed. Black.ops tighter dispersion. 

 

Have always liked pxg fairways but they always underperformed. This one is different. 

 

Have 2x7.5 and 2x5 weights coming for it. The 2 configs that showed the most promise were 7.5 in both front ports and 2.5 back. And 5g in back and heel ports and 7.5 in toe.

 

Gonna go head to head against paradym 3d soon.

This 3w gives great numbers. It's quick. Dispersion is tight. Spin doesn't kick up.

The 17 set to 16 was a bit spinny. It didn't increase launch any. Now, I was trying all kinds of weight configs. 17 at 16 was a touch slower too. 

 

The pxg 17 at 16 was about the same as the Paradym 3d (15 set at 16). 

 

15 degree pxg gave me 152 ballspeed, 3300 spin, 9.6 launch.  17 at 16 gave me 151 ballspeed, 3800 spin, 8.0 launch. There was something I didn't like about the 17 set down 1.

 

Paradym 3d at 16, 152 ballspeed, 3650 spin, 9.1 launch
