Surprising results from outdoor fitting

My TR blue shaft on my TSR3 snapped so I went to my local fitter for an outdoor fitting for a driver. After warming up we started the session.  We started with a stock project x shaft. To my greatest surprise my spin rates were surprisingly low. Despite having ball speeds of 170+ my spin and distances of 300+ was struggling to get significantly above 2000rpm. He used the Foresight monitor. He told me I would most likely not get optimal distance especially with wind. As a result I was recommended the stock Tensai shaft or TR red at 6-X. He also suggested I abandoned the low spin balls like left dash.

 

Reason these results are surprising is that I have always had a relatively high trajectory as my playing partner @callawayjay can attest to. Carry is not my issue. It may explain why I knuckleball hook it sometimes, though.
 

I do admit the red feels pretty nice. After I snapped my shaft, I borrowed and hit @callawayjay driver with the TR red in regular flex (lol) and I had a mammoth drive at spyglass hill past the tree on the fairway. Maybe my swing profile just fits that type of shaft better. 

I ordered a tr red as Dallas golf and going to use it and then maybe get a second opinion.

He was playing the Golds at spyglass and cranked my R flex driver to the 100 yard marker on 16 (black dog) at spyglass hill. I have never seen anyone hit the ball that deep there. 450 from the gold tees that hole plays.

When you get an anomalous result at a fitting, *never* make a purchase based on that alone.

 

Have a follow-up session and ensure that the fitter lets you take the club(s) out for an actual round.

What's anomalous about the fit?  High launch usually means low spin, not the other way around. A TR Red 6X or Tensei Blue 65X are more than appropriate for something potentially looking to stabilize spin.

You are high launch, low spin guy so carry should never be a problem for you.  But at your ball speed, probably better to get spin around 2200 to 2400 for better control, rather than under 2000.

Very helpful replies. I will play a couple of rounds with the TR red shaft and see how it goes. If anything I can get a follow up or second opinion if it doesn’t work out.
