Steady progress over the last years on EU/DP, and seeing him winning at Torrey is great but no big surprise. Could be a great weekend for the Höjgårds too. Pretty sure the twins wnt to reunite in the west. Ludvig, misses everywhere all week but still top 10, like his chances on Pebble.

This. Plus I would rather see a first timer win, than Homa (or pick your brand name) add to their total.  Post victory interviews are almost always emotional and we learn about a player none of us likely knew nothing about 4 days earlier.  

 

Some viewers are fan boys and that's okay also.

One of the better finishes to a regular PGA tour event in a while IMO. 

1. Clearly giving PGA tour cards to the DP world top 10 was a good move. Show just how thin the margins are in the top 100 that they came to a course they've played much less than the Americans and were the ones duking it out down the stretch

2. No idea WTF happened with Pavon's 2nd shot on 18. It's a little tricky being that close to the lip, but he missed a 30+ yard wide fairway while only advancing it 100 yards?!

3. Pavon's 3rd shot on 18 is why we need fewer -30 birdiefests on tour. On a Kapalua-type course with no rough, 6 is completely out of play when hitting that shot barring a major choke. On a course with real rough, any score between 4 and 8 is in play all the sudden. Infinitely more compelling finish to the tournament on the basis of having real rough vs. not. 

4. I still don't get the Torrey Pines hate. #18 alone has now served up three extremely memorable finishes-- Kyle Stanley's implosion, Tiger's US open birdie, and Pavon. Give the course some credit.

Pebble is going to be soggy it looks like.  Unless it gets windy, it could be a birdie contest.

All good story's this year for winners. The PGA lets people chase their dreams. For all the drama in pro golf, this is a good kick off to the season

Impressive showing by some European players on a decidedly US Open-type course.  Probably the heaviest rough players will face on any tour all year... combined with claustrophobic fairways.

I like your style re rough.

I would also like to see strategic run-offs to tightly mown recovery areas. Mix it up a bit, then we'll find who has got a versatile short game.

 You're so right 😁, had totally forgotten that Pavon had just pipped Rasmus in the last round. Really a heartbreaking moment when Nicolai and Rasmus met after Nicolai had won the last event and Rasmus had just missed out on the PGA tour card....

Nicolai had some nice words towards Pavon though after yesterdays round! The twins are raised well!

Yeah and they usually have easy pin locations for the Am’s. Winning score is gonna be around -20
