IIRC, I believe they have typically run that sale twice/year, the other time being in the spring.

Playing partner tossed me a Pro Plus on course today, the newest release of it. Didn’t care for the “drip” finish but wasn’t off-putting either. 
Despite a 5/10 ball striking day, I was impressed with the performance. Couple of overdraws remained playable, rather than becoming deadly hooks on narrow holes. Flies high. Perhaps a touch too much spin with wedge approaches for me, but given the impressive stopping power with the mid and long irons, I could easily learn to account for the extra rip from closer range.

Got 3dz of newer Pro to try..... intrigued after finding an original Pro and enjoying everything about it until a watery grave was found....

I just hope the lines are in better alignment than they appear in the photo. Probably just perspective, but the boxes are the same size.

Lets hope so, I think those were pulled from the USGA conforming list thing or whatever its called. I've seen some AVX's where the lines looked crooked and Titleist is pretty on top of QC

Depending on the lens and angle, there can be some lens distortion. Vice quality has always been on top in the DTC realm in my experience, so I doubt that it is what it appears to be.

Agreed, I've had zero issues with any of my Vice products

lol, me too. But I also hate that Titleist and TM charge extra for the alignment aids. Wondering if Vice does the same thing or if they'll be the same price

You beat me to it. My initial reaction was that the bottom stamp looked crooked. I have found misaligned side stamps on the pre-2024 Vice balls (the current pointed side stamp seems harder to notice crooked stamps with the naked eye vs the previous line).

I found the engineer😂. 

I would definitely try this if they put a black version on the green pro plus. I dont like a lot of “stuff” on the ball but I think that would match up pretty well with the alignment aid i ordered on my new lab.

Oh, my, heaven forbid! I’m the visually driven photography hobbyist. You don’t EVER want to trust me with something like math outside of a few physics calculations used in archery! 😱

Of course I just went and bought the 4for3 deal on the TP5, so it will be a while before I game these

Then again maybe not depending on how I play the next few weeks

And.........I've found my NEW ball!! Great feel, spin and launch conditions especially at my speed (slower) 

Not to mention the cost......

I have come full circle and think I am back on Pro Plus for a while. It’s a ball I have played on and off for years, I always try new things but somehow end up with pro plus in my bag. I’m a pretty fast swings speed but a lower spin player, I hit the ball high enough with irons that holding greens isn’t really a problem but I do need spin from 130 in, I think my distance control sufffers without it. I’ve tried a lot of the firmer balls out right now, I like Z Star XV but prefer a firmer feel putting and chipping. I went to Maxfli Tour X, and it’s a great ball, but I found some irons were honestly just too long. I had some wedges in that flew farther than I want them to and it caused some problems. I decided to play pro plus again this weekend and it just checks all of the boxes for me. I dont think its the longest ball for me off the tee, but its certainly not noticeably short or anything, and my irons are all just so predictable with it. Putting is firm enough to get along with and its predictable for me around the greens. It’s not necessarily a standout in any category, but it just does everything I want it to and its a good price point. Also as a yellow ball player, I like Vice’s Green, its easy for me to track in the air and it stands out surprisingly well on the course.

I have been using the Vice Pro Plus in the Yellow/Orange Two Tone for the past year.  I went through the Ballnamic fitting process and while the Pro V1 was my top recommendation at 97% the VPP was only 1% behind at 96% and for the price that is an unbeatable deal.

Does anyone know how to identify the year a ball was manufactured if a website doesn't mention it?

 

I'm partially colorblind and have had the best luck with bright green (Volt!) balls, but I've read so many good things about the Shade design I wanted to give them a shot, but not interested in buying 5+ dozen or paying $40 for a single box.

 

Can anyone identify what year this packaging would imply?  And does it even matter?  Any years to avoid or chase etc?

You want to avoid anything before 2022, not because they're bad, just the covers weren't as durable.  The 2022 & 2024 versions are very good.  Not sure if the picture you're showing is the 2022 or 2024 version but you can't go wrong with either.  I currently have a stock of the 2022 versions I bought middle of 2023.  I have absolutely no problem with them.

There was no 2022 version, prior generation was released in 2020. The Vice Pro line has technically only had 3 iterations of side stamps (OG, 2020, 2024). 
 

I ultimately agree with the sentiment though. Avoid any with the word Vice on the side stamp before the model name as these are pre-2020 which had horrible cover durability.

ok, so then the ones I bought in 2023 from Vice are the 2020 version.  Either way, they are great balls.  I wrongly assumed there was a 2022 model, which was actually the 2020 model.
