Experience with putter fitting at Manhattan Club Champion?

I need to be in NYC for a few days and was thinking about a putter fitting at Club Champion. Does anyone have any experience with the Manhattan Club Champion for a putter fitting? Who was your fitter?

No experience at the NYC location, but did the putter fitting at the NJ location. In terms of the process of the fitting, I assume it will be the same at each Club Champion. They measure your baseline with SAM and it will spit out a recommendation of what putter it thinks you should play based off what you did with your gamer. Your fitter will then explain what all the numbers mean and why it gave the certain recommendation. The fitter will then pick a handful of putters for you to try and ask for feedback on feel. Once you find one that you think feels the best, you measure that one with SAM and compare the data. 

 

I think the process is okay, but wish that I got to get data on all the putters tested (or at least a handful of them) instead of just my gamer + the putter that felt the best. As we know, feel doesn’t always = real. 

 

Also thought it was interesting that when I initially did the test, it suggested that I played a putter with toe hang around 20 degrees. Once i tried those out, picked one, and tried it with SAM, it suggested that I play a face balanced putter.

 

Ended up getting neither and ordering a LAB in the end lol.

I'd say unless you actually know about the fitter at the CC, I'd steer clear

What was your fitting experience? Just curious how it differed.

i had a mediocre fitting experience at the CC in white plains - they record your swing on sam and the computer spits out a putter for you

 

i went in with and odessey CH#7 with about 20 degrees of toe hang, 35" and ordered a titeliest del mar 34" (it has 60 degrees of toe hang) and i hate it

I have scheduled a fitting and will follow-up with my observations. I’m not a bad putter but if I could save a stroke or two it would be worth it. I’ll be in touch.

My wife and I were in NYC for a few days and I had some time to kill and decided to have a putter fitting at Club Champion on 42d Street. This is my quick review.

 

When I walked in I was greeted by Matt who would be doing my fitting. He gave me a few minutes to chill out and gave me a bottle of water, both of which were needed and appreciated. I did not bring my putter and, using one of the display putters, rolled a few balls on their putting area which honestly should have been bigger. Matt inquired about my current putter and I gave him model and specs - Taylormade Spider GTX, 1 degree flat, 33”, single bend. He didn’t have the same model but “replicated” my putter using a TM Spider Tour single bend and bending to 1 degree flat. He then  connected the putter to the SAMM Lab and me attempt 7 putts. He asked what I was experiencing with my putter and I told him that putts appeared to start on line but might cut to the right. He then had me attempt 5 foot putts while watching stroke and finish. It was his opinion that my putter was too flat. Using a LAB putter because he could adjust length and lie, he set it up 3 degrees upright and 34 “ in length, and had me attempt 5 footers again. It seemed that I rolled the putts better. He then bent the TM Spider Tour to 3 degrees upright and I was able to get similar results. We then connected the putter to SAMM Lab and hit 7 putts. The results showed that with more upright putter the face was much closer to being flat at impact. He did not recommend the purchase of a new putter but instead bend my current putter more upright and maybe adding an extension. 
 

Overall the experience was good. I learned something about putter lie angle and putter flow and was not pressured to buy another expensive putter. Personally, probably because I tend to be a geek about this, I would have scheduled a back to back sessions because I thought the 1 hour session was a little cramped. 
 

I have shared the results with my pro who thought that a 3 degree upright putter might be too much for me, but we agreed that bending the putter and trying it was a low cost experiment that could be changed back.

I have a full bag fitting soon here too-mostly interested in data and putter

will likely wind up with a putter bc they have a free fitting promo now if you purchase at least one club

 

anyone know the putter offerings?  I had a putter fitting at CC but it was 6 years ago

what are the nuances of a putter fitting?  i know you can weight w toe hang, etc...anything else I should familiarize myself with before going?
