Best golf bag on the market - Nevr Looz

Recommended Posts

My New golf bag arrived today. I made a few adjustments to the iron clips and made sure everything was a perfect fit. I couldn’t wait. Got out to the course for my first 9 of the year. I played through a single and as we stopped to chat, he immediately commented on the bag. He then got out of the cart to look at it and ask a few questions.

There are plenty of storage spots on the bag and even a handy spot on the back of the bag for the rain cover (so it doesn’t take up the normal storage area). Everything I put in my old bag fit perfectly. I got this bag for one reason, I just finished building my new irons and iron head covers are a deal breaker. This club completely fixes the problem of clubs banging around in the bag when you either carrying the bag or have them riding in the cart.

No issue with clubs getting stuck. No issues with the jumbomax XL’s being difficult to pull out of the bag. Because you can see the spot where each club goes inserting the club is easy. In a word, awesome!

Of course, just as the name NEVR LOOZ implies, another benefit is that because every club has a spot, if you are missing a club it probably won’t take a few holes to realize you left it on the last putting green.

The other thing I really liked is the putter holder on the side of the bag instead of being inside the bag with the other clubs. You could put the putter on either side and then use the other for an umbrella if you are so inclined.

I have spent a lot of money on golf bags over the years and there is no doubt this is the most functional bag I have ever owned.

Robert at Nevr LOOZ was also first class all the way. I ordered when there was a backlog and they were moving to a new production facility so there was a bit of a delay. He kept me updated on status throughout the process. The wait was worth it.

Wild.  Interested to see how they fit in the cart.

I should have addressed that too. The strap doesn’t go around the bag like a traditional golf bag. If you look at the picture I posted (full bag). You can see a hole in the side of the bag. The strap from the cart goes straight through that hole and out the hole on the other side. It’s just in front of the last 2 irons.

The way it fits in the cart is even better. You can see this on that same picture. If you zoom in, the bottom of the bag has a notch that goes over the lip of the cart. Instead of if sliding all the way into the cart bay, it hooks onto the cart which further keeps the bag from moving around.

I got to test that today also. It was another well thought out part of the design.

I applaud the effort of doing something different but that's gonna be a no from me dog.

Hope you enjoy it though.

I totally get it. I wasn’t posting to convince anyone else to do what I did. I just wanted to share the information because there might be other people on this forum who have spent a lot of money on new clubs and they want to keep them looking new as long as they can (and who agree with me that head covers on irons is THE WORST).

I have bought new clubs every year for the past 10 years. Every time I get a new set I realize how beat up my “old” clubs are after a year of being played. The vast majority of the damage to the clubs comes from just being in the bag rattle riding around the courses.

I play a lot of golf so maybe it wouldn’t be that bad for someone who doesn’t play that frequently. Further, it’s not like the damage changes the performance…just the appearance. Some people won’t care about that. I didn’t care about that for a long time either. Why would I? I buy the latest and greatest every year anyway.

This past year, I spent way more money on building my new custom set of irons. The irons are pure sexiness. In doing this, it’s the first time that I entertained the idea that these clubs may be with me for longer than a year. Well, that got me thinking, “it would be nice if I could come up with a way to protect the clubs and keep them looking new as long as I can.”

Since I was in deep designing my own clubs I started thinking about how I could design a bag to fix the problem. I tested other things on the market. head covers (don’t get me started). I bought a bag that was supposed to stop the clubs banging around it had individual club compartments (and it was a PITA to get clubs in and out throughout the round). I bought clips so I could retrofit an existing bag. I was actually about to tear apart one of my favorite bags because I was going to see how I could redesign it for better function. That’s when I came across the Nevr LOOZ bag.

Good news. Instead of tearing my bag apart, I simply sold a couple bags that I had and bought this one.

Ok so I'm in a similar boat... I just got some limited edition custom forged clubs imported from Japan, and while I usually don't care about bag chatter - these are something different. Are you still satisfied with the bag? Have you ever had to test the rain hood? does the bag some with stand legs? That's my biggest concern with this bag. Also, how do you feel about the magnetic pockets? Its a relatively small thing... but I've come to love magnetic pockets for my rangefinder and phone in particular.

They only couple of alternatives I've found are the Ogio Silencer bag (seems great but no magnetic pockets or modern things like large cooler pockets... the Ask Echo ST Lock (has a stand which is a big plus for me, couple of magnetic pockets and a large cooler pocket, locks clubs at the top and grips on bottom)... and the vessel player pro V with the organizer attachment (reviews speak for themselves, but its comically expensive).

Based on these, it seems this Nevr LOOZ is a great value but it looks so damn weird it's hard to take the leap of faith... but even that leap of faith would be better than iron headcovers

What I don’t get is why they designed a bag like this and yet left out one of the most important features for their target market, a dedicated ball retriever slot?

Not sure why you would say that? First, realize that most people are terrible golfers and they play BS equipment.

Second, if you are a crappy golfer and want a ball retriever, I am sure you have no problem carrying it in the cart with the beer you sneak onto the course.

My father in law had a bag cart combo thing that had racks like that…..probably why he quit golf at 55……..

I kind of look at this like an intelligence bell curve. I know where I am on that curve which makes it really difficult to care about what other people think…about anything.

That being said, many of the physical characteristics that enable good golf are genetic. So, my guess is, you won’t be far behind your father. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Really? And check your reading comprehension.  Surprised you didn’t quote your IQ too.    You seem to care enough to post.

@Drrussell can you comment on these questions if you have a minute? I'm basically trying to decide between this, a Vessel Player V Pro with the organizer attachment, and the Ask Echo ST-Lock stand bag. I'm really conflicted as to which makes the most sense... I have a 10 iron set up (3-PW, GW, SW, LW and a midsize putter grip and have temporary iron covers that I absolutely hate. I'm guessing you would recommend the Nevr Looz over those other two, but I'd love your firsthand experience and which exact model you chose and why - I'm having a tough time fully grasping the differences between models (which have straps/magnetic pockets/stand legs, etc.)

@John117 puttin4eagle - did you ever make a decision?  I'm in the same boat - 10 irons, and it looks like the vessel organizer only does 9...the vessel bags look nice, but I'm not sure how well the irons would stay in place when the bag is lying down while in the car.  Lots of reviews say the organizer falls out, and they had to use zip ties to hold it into place - those are older so maybe they fixed the design.  The Nevr Looz looks like it functions, but I'm not sure I like the look....

I hate iron covers...I've tried that in the past, but don't like managing all of the head covers on each shot.

I tried a few things, I wound up ordering the Vessel Player V Pro with the organizer and immediately realized it does not work at all with more than 9 irons. Bag itself is awesome, and if you look at the cart version (Lux Pro I think?) the organizer and the bag itself is designed much more suitably for more than 9 irons (basically, the heads are arranged differently so the 3 & 4 can kind of freely float over your 7i slot. I'm just not where I can use a cart bag, though I ride most of the time - but any practice session is an issue cuz likely it won't stand on its own and lots of facilities don't have stands for short game practice areas. Also, on the vessel side, the cart bags are only offered in that "tour synthetic leather"... which I'm sure is good but every single piece of synthetic leather I've owned disintegrates with time which I'm not interested in for a bag at all or that pricey.

I don't think the Nevr Looz is for me, couldn't find any other current reviews on it and the limited youtube videos didn't instill me with confidence that it would actually work.

I think either the Ask Echo or the Ogio is the correct play, Ogio doesn't have magnetic pockets of any kind and you'll be love/hate with styling, and Ask echo actually has some cool colors but the styling is odd.

A wildcard option to look out for is the Sun Mountain C-130 hybrid - it's basically their C-130 cart bag without magnetic pockets (for no good reason that I can tell) and a stand. It's just a 14 way top, but the cooler pocket is great, the stand is legit and staggered so it'll sync onto a push cart or electric cart, and I hope that (with the feedback that I submitted to them) they might have a magnetic pocket/silencer version coming.

I have been using iron covers in the interim, which are TERRIBLE and I hate myself for doing it - but they do the job adequately.
