Uneekor Eye Mini Lite

Recommended Posts

Anyone know much about this unit?

Does this unit require special balls like MLM 2 Pro to track spin or stickers like GC3 to pick up club head data?

Does it work outside?

Bunch of questions I have when cross shopping the Eye Mini Lite to the Eye Mini

  • The battery on the Eye Mini will eventually die. If I'm not planning on moving this, it seems like the no-battery EML is just one less thing to go wrong.
  • Similarly, not having a screen on the EML seems like one less thing that could break over the long term.
  • My range only has the low-end Pinnacle range balls so I assume taking an EM to the range wouldn't really be that helpful since ball speed and spin would be completely off.
  • The downside to the EML is that you need to tether it to a computer. Unclear how much horsepower is required to just get your launch numbers (no simulation). Could a cheap laptop work?

Hi there, while we have not received our unit for testing yet, we did get to test it out at the PGA Show and found it to be just a stationary version fo the Eye Mini which we have found to be quite accurate, consistent and reliable.
It does not require specialist balls, but does require club stickers to provide club data.
While it will work outside, there is no battery so you will need a power source and there is only a wired connection, so you will need your laptop. It was definitely designed to be used as an indoor simulator.

Not that anyone would lol...but couldn't you use one of those portable power stations (the ones people use for camping?) and make it portable in an emergency or 1 off event? I know this doesn't solve the screen issue..

If you just want numbers, an iPad might work. It works for the EM, no computer. You'll need to check if EML does that, but even so, about any laptop will give you just numbers. It's sim golf that is taxing on a PC.

Any experiences with this unit? Thinking of upgrading my SkyTrak (OG) to an EML.

we had the OG Skytrak for a year.  It was actually pretty good but as my son was getting faster, he was getting more & more no reads.  Switched over to the EML and it is awesome.  The view software is really good and hardly any no reads.  Need a decent PC and you are good to go.

Considering the EML for my indoor setup.  How is everyone liking it?  What do you not like??

Absolutely love it......., except that it also pics up and records the worst shanks you've ever seen (most other LMs, especially ceiling mounted LMs, give you a free muligan)..  Not the EML.  It says..., "hahahaha I read the shot and it's as embarassing as you thought it was!"

But seriously.., yes... it's amazing.  Gotta be bar none the best LM for the money right now.  It's super quick too.  The ball is flying on the sim damn near before the ball hits the screen.

How did you build that frame and what size is it?

I am looking at a SIG10 package from Shop Indoor Golf.  The Eye Mini Lite was at the top of the list....and today they released a Square Launch Monitor SIG10 Kit as well (which is $1300 less).  So I'm torn!  I honestly think the Square will do everything I need to do for a good Sim experience (practice & play with friends).

The opening comes out to roughly 18'x12'.  The key is to know the exact outside length and width measurements of the impact screen itself (not just the viewing angle).  And a good general rule of thumb is to make your opening 5" bigger in length and 5" bigger in width than the true outside measure of your screen.

That way you can actually cinch it all up with stainless steel zipties, bungess etc (have the room to do so.)  Also, I used simple garage track angle iron (has all the holes).  They sell them in 8' and 4' sections.  That was my attachment point.

Since I was using 20ft long 2x4's, (aka it flexes and won't be level).  I leveled the whole thing up with a level / board on a floorjack to get where it needed to be and supported with beams running to the rafters.  Pretty simple frame job.

There's also a board going across the floor for attachment point at the bottom.  Since I built ramps covered in marine vinyl and my screen had black flaps all around for cushions, It served the purposes of making sure no worm burner is going under the screen and makes all the worm burners simply fly up into the screen or top net.   Super simple.  Super inexpensive.  Very happy with it.
