@Pnwpingi210 - I wasn't aware you could get them through a Titleist fitting, so that's good to know!

I'm just curious to see how the flight dynamics compare to their consumer line more than anything. I understand it's a niche CPO ball, but what type of player is it designed for exactly?

Titleist does fitting at pretty much every private club I have been around once a year or so.  Check with the head pro wherever you play

Titleist TSR3 - Hzrdus T1100 Hulk

Sub 70 949 Pro Hybrid 19 and 22* - Recoil Dart 95x

Srixon ZX7 - MMT's 105TX SSx1

Sub 70 JB Forged 48*, 52*, 56*, 60*- MMT Scoring

I don’t know much about it other than it spins more than the prov1x.   I also don’t know how a non professional goes about getting a CPO fitting.  Somebody on here or your local pro will be able share more in sure

The Star or the Plus are not available to order regardless of what the fitting data says- that is for the Dot and largely depends on if the Titleist rep has balls to distribute. TPI at Oceanside is Titleist Headquarters and even they won't fit you into Star or Plus- you also have to inform them in advance of your desire to look at getting fit into the left Dot. They won't just simply offer it.

It's played by a couple LPGA players. Slow swing speed, low spin. The ball dynamics are higher launch and higher spin.

Evidently Aldrich potgieter is playing this ball.  So definitely not for just lower speed players.

Hilarious because I was just searching for more info after seeing that in his WITB.

@Pnwpingi210 do you think we’ll get in another fight with that one guy about how you order them?

Curious if anyone knows more about this mystery ball.  I would have guessed Potgeiter to be more life a Prov1 or Left Dot kind of guy.

Spinnier v1x?

I think he’s had problems airmailing greens.  Those proto kbs tour v ten shafts do knock spin off so they’ve probably got him in a spinnier ball to give more control on the shorter end of his set.

once you do that pretty easy to dial in a driver to the ball with hotmelt and stuff

Yeah I guess a little more spin couldn’t hurt.  He’s prone to big misses in what I have watched, so maybe helps keep it a little tighter.  And with 130 mph clubhead speed, I guess what ball you hit off the tee is somewhat irrelevant.  Still amazing how hard that guy hits it with that free flowing move.  Just beautiful.  Not the best around the greens and certainly not Ben Crenshaw on the greens, but at age 20, the sky is the limit.

That guy can't be mad because the Pro V1X+ isn't on the Titleist website so it isn't "false advertising" or whatever he called it.

But are you sure you aren't a "corporate shill" for Acushnet?  The profits they reap in from the free ball fittings they offer are untold.

I would tell you that I won't shill for anyone, but that's exactly what a shill would say...

Remember reading from a Titleist source a few years ago that X+ simply has a slightly different dimple pattern to raise flight ever so slightly. Not an option that that gets much play, according to them.

x2. I had a Titleist ball fitting and that is exactly what the rep said. - means less and + means more.  The X- spins slightly less, the plus is the adverse.

Back when you could buy the Titleist X-outs at DSG and GG, I always saw the ProV1X+.  Played it a few times and it wasn't a fit for me, I recall talking to someone about it when Titleist was doing a fitting somewhere , back when the Left Dash was more of a myth, and he said the plus was designed to fly higher and that Webb Simpson was playing it . Hard to believe but that was probably 10 years ago?

wouldn't getting a regular V1 be a better option considering it's a softer ball with higher spin?

I play the new ProV1; compression-wise it's softer than the ProV1x, but ProV1 spins less than the ProV1x. Years back I played ProV1x.

Anything with a symbol left of the model number of the ball means less. If to the right means more.

2025 version across the board launch a tick lowers, better wind performance than 2023 models from my experience. If you look at the dimples you can see how much more aggressive the edge angles are.

Hightest to Lowest Launch CPO:

Prov1x RIght Plus (+) great for players whose initial launch and spin is low, and needs to raise their peak height.

(-) Left Dash is great for players who like prov1x, but need slightly lower peak height. Live in between prov1x/prov1.

Left Dot Prov1 (*) great for players who launch it high and spin it high, and needs lower their peak height. Lives near AVX on this chart

Most players live between prov1 & prov1x based on their ballspeed, loft at impact and angle of attack.

Most golf balls either peak higher and therefore later in flight (prov1x like balls) or peak lower and sooner in flight (prov1 like balls).

Peaks more downrange and higher:

Prov1x (+) > Prov1x 2023 > Prov1x 2025 >  (-) Prov1x

Notice the gap between prov1x 2023 and left dash, this is where the new 2025 prov1x lives. A lot of people wanted left dash for the wind performance, but really they need more of a prov1x 2023 performance so that's why I believe they design the 2025 prov1x to live in between these two balls and be better in the wind.

Peaks closer to you and lower:

Prov1 Left Dot ~ AVX > Prov1 2025 > Prov1 2023

Found this one years ago, played a couple rounds before I lost it. Don't remember anything different from the regular proV1 x at that time.Screenshot_20250722_054025_Gallery.jpg.3dedc96964e0e6a08a02a5a9b27113a7.jpgScreenshot_20250722_054049_Gallery.jpg.eac2e9639b244eca6d9c207c79c46f6d.jpg
