Diamana BF users - what are you playing now?

Hey all, curious what others are seeing success with. I'm have played a Diamana BF 60 S in my driver since 2020, and have had very good results with it. I was previously in much stouter shafts than the BF, but this one has had a pretty good match for me. However, in the spirit of progress, would love to know what others like.

I usually find "blue" profile shafts to kick a bit too hard for me and to be too active. The BF has been an exception. The next best match when I hit new heads/shafts this year was Ventus Red 6x, but it wasn't really an improvement.

SS 104ish, medium loading of shaft. Positive AoA ~5 degrees, so plenty of dynamic loft at impact. BF / AI Smoke TD has been launching 17*/1700rpm. I have no concerns about accuracy risk with spin that low, prefer to maximize carry.

Try the Diamana GT.  It's modified blue board in that it launches a little lower and spins a bit less.  Way more stable and linear in feel compared to the BF.   Kick isn't pronounced as the BF but it's subtle and you can feel it in the bottom half of the mid section.  The ball would curve quite a bit a with the BF when I tested it but the GT is a 2-5 yard curve either way for me unless I put a really bad swing on it in which case no shaft can save it.

I have played BF60tx in driver since 2017-2018ish. I have a Tour AD GP 6tx I also love the feel of but really I stick to BF in my driver. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this shaft and it’s not a terrible amount older than Ventus. I think it’s far more quality product than modern fuji quality too.

FWIW I play Tour AD UB/GP 8 and 9 in fairway woods.

JT Poston still has BF in driver as far as I know. Diamana TB would be the next generation of that shaft. Like all the 5th gen Diamana shafts, TB may play a little more stout than BF.

My current gamer is the Ventus TR 6TX, that said I also have a Diamana BF 70TX, it's comparable due to the weight, kind of feel the same (again, for me), the BF does fly higher, I just enjoy the Ventus much more, very stable, the BF is a very good shaft and it probably work for the majority of golfers, at 104sh SS, we are almost the same, I might be tick higher but the results are great with both shafts, I just prefer the Ventus, "feels" more stable and my fairways hit are much better now, averaging 10-11 fairways a round and the ones I miss are barely in the first cut...still the BF is a great shaft...

I loved my BF60TX, it was so easy to swing. It made the club feel a little light without changing the headweight but I had it cut short.

I went to ZF60TX same length and found it to be totally different (not sure on tipping). Felt hard to get airborne with my delivery.

I am now in Ventus Red 6x which looks to have been tipped quite a bit. Absolutely love it and has tightened my dispersion big time over the BF. Spin has dropped and launch a tad too so I am getting a much more boring flight, and not as many crazy offline balls. It just makes the club feel really balanced in my hands.

I can imagine if I had a TB60TX with the perfect length and tipping for me, it would also be a great option.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the thoughts, some good stuff here I can think about and try. I'm very OK continuing with the BF and that's probably where I will land, but interested to tinker a little bit this spring.

TB feels a little bit more stout than the BF for sure.  It particularly feels stiffer in the handle and mid.

I played BF for three games & never gelled with it, even in TX it was too kicky for me.

I got rid of it & got a Tensei CK Pro blue 60tx & although it has classic bb kick, it’s so stable & accurate not to mention long that I find it a better shaft than BF. The one for me that tops them both is ZF 60tx, definitely a tighter shaft than CK pro with a similar flight but with even tighter dispersion & just as long. It’s my current gamer & love it, not to mention it’s the sexiest looking shaft I’ve ever had too.

My equal favorite that has a slightly lower launch is the Fujikura Speeder Pro XLR8 63tx, beastly long but does fly a little lower, feels awesome too.

Try the GT 60TX.  I had the 70TX in driver and have the 80TX in my 3 metal.  I had the ZF 70 and 80TX as well.  GT is even tighter dispersion, still feels ultra smooth and launch/spin are similar to ZF.  The curvature is considerably less with GT for me.

Hey there, I’ve played two more games with the ZF 60tx & OMG am I enjoying pulling driver, the feel is unmatched, the flight is mid/high & seems to spin mid/low.

Im still not as long as with my Fujikura Speeder Pro XLR8 63tx but I’m loving everything else about the ZF.
I’ll tweak some loft & weighting to see if I can perhaps gain a few more yards but so far it’s a solid 8/10 for me.

Update to my own old thread because, hey, sometimes people are looking for weird stuff. I'm still in the BF, went up to an X flex this year and it is phenomenal. Very similar feel / loading to the S for me, but I now have an extra gear when needed whereas the S just spun more and went higher when I tried to nuke it. This is also a bit more draw-resistant, which is fine for me.
