Anyone tried the Golf Pride reverse taper grips?

I was about to pre-order a pistol grip online before it hit retail but I'm glad that I didn't...went to my local golf store when they came out and really didn't like the texture on these grips compared to SS. they just felt really cheap imo..ended just buying a SS pistol again as I think the zenergy does feel nicer than the old traxion

I just put a round medium on my Odyssey 2 ball...I won't get to use it until Monday so I'll report back.

Put on a medium reverse taper, two rounds in I'm liking it a lot. It may also be a case of realizing how much I hated my last grip. Due to some golfer's elbow issues, I went thicker, and my grip was just too heavy, so I can't tell if it's the weight or the reverse taper feel but either way it's crazy how much better this is than what I had.
 

One data point, but 29 putts in a tournament round is pretty good. I'll def be sticking with this through this season and reassess at the end, but I'm digging it.

P.s. for shotscope users, this grip is great as unlike super stroke, there's no issue adding the trackers.

I just wanna push an update out to this thread. Didn’t think I’d ever be motivated enough to talk putter grips but here we are.
 

For background I am a solid putter who uses a standard grip and have always used some combination of the Superstroke Pistol GT 1.0 or the Tour Series. Those grips have been fine in my opinion but sometimes I get a little handsy in my stroke. I never got along with the true oversize grips, always felt like I lost feel. I am a tall guy with large hands so something standard size never felt right. Well the medium Reverse Taper Pistol has fit me perfectly. I feel like it’s a great combination of everything I’m seeking. I’ve played three rounds so far with it on my 2-Ball Eleven DB and it fits great. My hands feel very stable and quiet throughout which is all you can really ask for. I think if you’re a SS guy it’s a nice change of pace and so far I am a believer in the technology.

Medium seemed the best fit in my hand. 
 

Ill be reshafting some putters here soon and look forward to trying this one out.

I just installed the medium pistol on a deep milled 2013 Newport that had a pistolero on it. With the pistolero the feel was perfect and very solid. Distance control was great but I found I was gripping it ever so slightly different each time as it just wasn't big enough. One of my buddies has the medium pistol I loved how it set my hands so I tried it. After one round the feel/sound is hollow. However I made a ton of putts because my hands were consistent each time and distance control didn't come in to play too much, nothing stuck out as too slow or fast. A few more rounds will be the test but the feel is not there. Anyone know of a similar sized grip with a more solid feel like the pistolero?

I just regripped a 17" armlock last night and didn't realize it had a decent reverse taper when ordering it. 

 

I really like it, partially because it creates a slight offset angle locked along the arm which puts the head in a nice place for me in my swing path. I can't say I notice much of a feel difference when using a traditional putting stroke with it though.

I’ve got the large flat one on my Odyssey Square 2 Square DW, and I think it’s pretty great. Does a great job of taking the right hand out of the stroke.

I tried some strokes with several putters equipped with these grips this week and they seem amazingly "natural" and very neutral.  Interesting tech.

The package said to not use compressed air to remove these grips. Has anyone tried it anyway? I'm enjoying the large size pistol but am tempted to toss another grip on there for some winter testing.

Really liked it. Try it and see if it works for you. I change putter grips a lot to avoid having to change heads - just gives a different feel.

Demod these grips other day and loved everyone of them.   Definitely going on my new Scotty in March.  Best putter grips I’ve felt in a long time.

I just grabbed a pistol small last night at Dicks Sporting Goods.  Tossed it on as soon as I got home (with air).  It is a nice putter grip, somewhat similar to the pistolero top but with a beefier bottom.  Putting LHL it feels nice.  The only thing that is off to me is the material.  I have tried all of the SS and grips like that but always seem to go back to rubber grips.  We will see how long this one lasts before going back to the pistolero grip.

 

oh, and the smell when opening the package... 🤮

Put a large pistol on my OG 2ball last year. Notable improvement in "feeling" the club face being square at contact, something I had struggled with.

I reinstalled the 30g counterweight when I put it back on because of how light the grip is going from a pistolero.  I will try a round with it in and then a round without and see what I like the feel of better

I’ve had one on my Bettenardi for a few months. It’s just a golf grip to me. Nothing more, nothing less

Updating myself - the grip came off after a few months and back to the pistolero. I couldn't get over the feel. I don't think I'm as bothered when putting with a SS 1.0 Pistol which is similar construction but it is smaller than the Reverse Taper. I had some of my better putting rounds with the reverse taper pistol but the feel was too much. Now I lock the pistolero into my lifeline for consistency and get the feel back.

I put one on when they came out. I'm keeping it on but truthfully I can't see any difference to my former SuperStroke. 

I'd have to conclude that it is merely different but no better.

I have been using the large pistol grip for about a month. I love it on my face balanced Lamont Mann Ma/66. The grip fits perfectly in the palm of my left hand and instantly brought back the confidence I lost after putting a new Flatso 3.0 on about 2 or 3 weeks prior.
