Am I the only one having trouble getting topics and pictures to load?

For the last week, pages, topics, pictures, etc. either take forever to load, or simply freeze, and don't change at all. I have restarted my phone, cleared all data, and caches, and even restarted Chrome. Nothing seems to be a permanent fix. Is it only on my end, or is the website itself having issues. Pulling my hair out here trying to get my daily golf info. fix. Thank you.

Same for me, except I use Edge. Clearing caches, updating Edge, etc. didn't help at all.

Need device info, browser and operating system. 
 

Have you tried another device, like phone or tablet?  Or another browser, like chrome.

Generally I use my Dell laptop, with Windows 11 and Edge.

 

I've also tried the family iPad with Safari; that's even slower.

No issues on the west coast.  Are you devices using your wifi?  Do you have an alternate connection?

I use my Samsung with Chrome browser. My desktop is an HP also using Chrome. I have the same problem on both. Wifi has three phones, two Alexas, and a couple other things on it ( seldom used things ). I can't figure it out. It is still happening for me.

Alternate connection would just be the Verizon network.

My laptop is wired to the router. We're not a high-usage household, so there's plenty of bandwidth. I could try tethering to my mobile, but that won't tell us much.

It’s not a bandwidth issue. It would be a provider issue in a region or area.

May one assume OTHER websites, preferably ones with quite a bit of page content to load, are working normally ?

 

If not, first thing to check is your internet/router speed. Fast.com is quick and easy. If your internet is unusually slow, there's your problem. It's either your router or your internet provider.

 

If not, something that's worked for me is as follows. Check to see if any of your extensions, especially recently installed ones, are the problem. Sometimes, even turning them ALL off and back on clears up the problem.

 

First, turn ALL your extensions OFF and try WRX again. If that works, turn all of your extensions back on again and try WRX again.

 

If WRX then works, you're done. If not, you can turn them ALL off again and then turn them back on ONE-by-ONE, trying WRX after each turn ON. That may show you which one is the problem.

 

If you've isolated the bad extension, remove it, go back and re-load it, and try again. That may clear up the problem.

 

If it's still bad, remove it again and be done with it.

Sometimes I post something and it gets no likes. Obviously some sort of technical issue. It’s puzzling.

Yep, all other websites are loading fine.

Checked my internet speed; it's what I'm used to seeing -- 900mbps down, and about 40mbps up.

No extensions in Edge.

Various devices (Mac, iPad, Windows 11 Pro) with Chrome and Safari with no issues with this.  Wifi and hardwired devices.

Im in Utah, experienced the same issues.

 

Primarily Ipad, IOS 17.4.1, internet speed test shows 300-500 gig DL 100 gig UL, (over wifi), no issues with other websites

Same here. It happens only on GolfWRX. Desktop, and Android.

Is your reply verifying you are still seeing slowness?  Not talking about the past, currently.

No improvement on my end. Intermittently, it takes minutes (like more than 5) for a page with images (like BST) to load.

Yep. Both at home and office. Latest iOS & Mac OS running Safari. Sometimes it moves right along, but frequent hangups and pauses.

It's been a little better the past two days. At its worst, I would initially get a site can't be reached notice. Just for a moment and then then it would load. Some pages, most with pics, would take several minutes to load. The past two days have been better with small delays at times.

Yes. I still have problems. Pics are slow to load on the BST. Other areas such as the Equipment Forum, if I  open a topic to read replies, then I  can't go back to see other topics other than closing the site, then opening it again.

Being that Titleist and FJ are pretty much the same company, I think that's a definite possibility.

 

When the Titleist ad was removed (or fixed ?), I believe the page advance issue went away.

Titleist/Footjooy/Vokey ads are the killer.  You can actually see the page refresh as the ad loads and then you are stuck.  If I want to "Load more activity," at the bottom of a page, I have to refresh and then hit the button before the ad loads.  Rinse and repeat.

 

@Gxgolfer it seems like a simple thing - get rid of that ad to fix the issue.  I get it that they have paid for the space, but they also should have an ad format that doesn't compromise the forum.

Unfortunately it’s not that simple.
 

The ad delivery is through the Tour. We have reported the issue to them before. You can install an ad blocker. 
 

Not sure that is related to slow page loads.

I have installed an adblocker and that removes the problem.  I don't see how that helps WRX on the revenue side if, eventually, no one can see the ads.

 

Not related to the slow load problem (or is it?), but the question came up and I provided a link.

The problem of slow page loading seem isolated to specific parts of the country but if others want to try it, they can and would like to hear results. 
 

There over 40 million impressions generated each month and while every bit helps, there is an acknowledgment that banner ads are necessary but like the ads in the back of magazines. 
 

If advertiser cant deliver compelling and proper ads, then we will work with them to fix but we can do is limited and takes time.   
 

We work with the Tour on all these issues.
