I've had the 1k PW and PD and tested the WB. PD felt the most linear/stout and as a result, I found it to be the most anti-left. It takes more effort to turn it over. 1k PW was 2-3 mph faster ball speed wise, but also prone to the lefts. WB was middle of the road stability with average ball speed. I have an aggressive transition though and the TR black was the most stable outta all the shafts you listed. Your results may vary since it sounds like you're either smooth or moderate transition.

It's fun to tinker with shafts you should go with WB since it checked all the boxes for you.

Thanks for summarizing the profiles. I didn’t get to compare WB to tpw head to head because I hit WB in 3 wood but I have the Tensei in driver and what you’re saying matches up with my experience. The WB felt in between tpw and 1k black to me, which is kind of what I was looking for, but surprisingly the peak height and spin were in range in 3w.

If price weren’t an issue, it would be in 3w/5w and I might be looking at it for driver. Unfortunately at $400 a pop it’s just not going to happen. The other issue is that due to CC’s fitting system the shaft I hit was a 73x with 10g extra weight at the bottom in the form of an adapter. I suspect that 83x would be just right but I have no idea what that extra adapter weight does to the perceived flex and performance; in other words, the finished product might feel and perform fairly differently. There are a few on eBay.

Based on my fitting I think this is as close as it gets to a “1k black with more feel” and it helps that peak height and spin were higher as well (for me). The stout handle and mid are apparent without feeling too boardy and the matte finish reminds me of the 1k black and Hzrdus smoke black which are stable shafts that I’ve gotten along with.

@phizzy30 can you think of another stiff/stiff/med shaft that’s more widely/cheaply available on the secondary market? From what I understand this isn’t a super common profile but there must be something out there.

Check your PM. Diamana D-Limited is pretty close(EI profile) that feels similar to the WB which is older and cheaper.

Trono and Accra tz six st gen 2 are both stiff/stiff/med. the Trono is still pretty stout still and the tz six st gen2 is a little more lively whole being stable.

If you know, how does the Smoke RDX Black differ in profile? I have the basic Russ package, but I confess to not seeing as many differences as I should.

Tried an 80g 6.5 in a QI35LS driver head and got along with it. Not well, but good enough that it might've been the right path.

Isn't Trono some unicorn like Stiff/Ultra-Stiff!!!/Medium? Like it just goes on this absurd stiffness rise in the middle?

Never have hit it. Not hard to imagine why...

They use different materials from what I've read.

Pretty much, yes, maybe best thought of as an extreme interpretation of the Tensei Pro Orange/1K Orange.

Soft handle, wildly stiff midsection, but then the stiffness falls precipitously into the tip section unlike the Tensei comparisons. Where blue profiles can feel hinge-like in the middle of the shaft, Trono felt like it hinged below the grip AND just above the tip at different points in the swing.

Definitely a unique profile, and given that Bryson never really used it (even though LA Golf designed it for him, specifically) and its relatively lukewarm reception amongst the retail market, I doubt we'll see anything like it again for quite a while.
