AMT White x100 vs modus 105X in 2 and 3 utility. Any experience's?

I’ve noticed we are seeing some lighter steel pop up in 2 and 3 utility irons on tour. Do any of you have experience? Specifically with AMT white x100 or modus 105X?

I’ve tried almost all the graphite with the exception of modus gost and don’t love them.

Interesting question (i cant answer), and depending on feel preference and flight pattern, in the 112 grams (plus minus) range and steel shafts, you have shafts like PX 5.0 and 5.5, even Flighted 5.0 and 5.5 (you can still find Flighted single shafts), Project X PXi (6.0), and Project X IO. Dont forget that soft/hard stepping can be used to fin tune wgt or feel of flex.

Sorry - I know this is specific to Utility irons but all of the old AMT threads are about a year back.

I do play the AMT Whites in my 3/4 irons. The shafts are pretty light but work well for me. I would think the progressive weighting might not be enough for the larger head weights of utility irons - might require hard stepping to balance swing weight at the desired length.

Curious to get your take @Howard_Jones on another question

I'm currently playing with the AMT White S300s, standard everything T100 and my ball flight is super high with every iron. Always has been really as My AoA is -4 so I don't have a problem getting the ball up but these have seem even higher for me than usual.

7-iron =

SS = 95-98

Carry = 170

Total = 177

Launch = 21*

Apex = 95ft

This thread and data points are really interesting - I'm going to go test X100s this weekend but curious what your thoughts are.

Before this I was fitted into the PJX 6.5 last year and PJX 6.0 the year before - I hit the 6.0s much better and the 6.5s I just couldn't get into them which ended up with me headed back to the S300.

I hit the AMT White S300s consistently and they feel great but the height is insane. I think the weight is right but trying to narrow my dispersion and lower trajectory a bit. On good swings they work great but if I get a little quick or swing harder mid-round, the target area widens both left and right a bit. Obviously another fitting would be ideal - might need to head in sometime soon.

Here's the weight table:

21* as launch is very high, PGA average is 16.3* on their #7 iron
Tweak lofts stronger if the shafts feels good, but even 2.0* strong might not be enough, so it would be interesting to see some LM datas here. If its INDOOR from a mat, LA can be up to 3.0* higher than from turf.

@Pnwpingi210 - Sorry if this is a hijack, couldn't pass up asking. Happy to move on elsewhere

Thank you @Howard_Jones - I didn't know that about mats. All of my data is from outdoor range mats with the old amazing yellow range balls.

Looking up the specs, the T100 7-iron is 34 degrees which is comparable to an 8-iron in my old sets (T200/Cobra Forged/AP2).

I made a club distances/swing card for on the course so the higher loft hasn't changed my yardage at all between sets but the launch and apex certainly seem higher. Above numbers are true on the range and course, possibly even higher with actual balls versus the range variety.

I was on the Trackman earlier today, outdoors on a mat, and should have taken more photos.

Here's the closest I have from a while ago when I first got this set on a TopTracer range. This was from a cold start so my first 30-40 shots. Ball flight is my usual - 20+ launch and 90+ peak is pretty stock at the moment with the 7 at the range with the old yellow balls.

If those datas is the typical, you have a lack of SPIN (not on the screen shot), so you dont hit them too high

Look at LANDING angle
Average PGA is 50*, anything below 45* is no good, and your average here is down at 41* who is "Driver territory" for descent angle.

AGAIN - MATS changes both Launch angle and SPIN, how much vary a lot, and is also related to the players AOA. (launch goes up, spin goes down, so from grass, your numbers might be just fine)
