Anyone know much about these?  Was going to get the NX10 to replace my NX7 and saw these on their website.  Looks like it works in conjunction with their app, which doesn’t mean much to me since I prefer not to have my phone out at the course.  Rechargeable battery may be good, as long as you remember to charge it.  It doesn’t mention how long it would last on a single charge.  Has a good dust and water rating which is nice.

Any additional information or any feedback on these?

Couple things here that are a bit disappointing...

No Android compatibility. They say coming soon, but who knows when...

The requirement to be connected to an app/phone. Why hasnt a company released a rangefinder that has both GPS and laser capabilities that DOESNT need an active connection to your phone? I get it, it's supposed to be a set it and forget it thing and you may not need to use your phone during rounds, but there's always limitations with bluetooth and most likely bugginess to deal with as there always is with devices that need a phone connection. I work in tech and it's my life, but its the last thing I want to be dealing with and fumbling around on the golf course.

I believe the battery lasts 10 rounds when Bluetooth connected and up to 40 without it.

I agree with the rangefinder that has GPS and laser capabilities and doesn't need a connection to a phone. I know the Garmin Z82 worked standalone however the battery on it wasn't great maybe a few rounds. I'm hoping a company releases one soon that doesn't require a connection to a phone as the less I have to be on my phone at the course the better.

I emailed Precision Pro today to confirm that the GPS is actually just the numbers from your phone.  If the GPS was stand alone, that would have probably gotten me to seriously consider purchasing it.  But I don’t really want to have my phone in my pocket for the times I am not near my golf cart.  I do really like the idea that you’ll get a notification if you leave the rangefinder behind.  That has happened to me way too many times!😁

Both my Garmin Z82 and my VoiceCaddie SL3 are standalone units that have both GPS and laser functions. Each has it's own pros and cons, but both do not need a connection to a phone. The reason to use phone capabilities? Price. It keeps the cost of the unit down compared to the two above mentioned products IMO.

Thanks for the information.  If you don’t mind me asking why are you returning it then?

The front, center, back readings are taken from the location of the phone, not the range finder.  So if my partner is 20yds behind me, the numbers are off.  I’m shooting a flag that’s 155 and I’m getting a number to the front that’s 156.  You have to have your phone on you for that feature to be useful.  Having the app on the Apple Watch doesn’t matter either.  It’s a half assed attempt at incorporating GPS in a range finder.  Also the app is horrible.

That makes sense! I can see that being an issue if a player is in a cart and doesn’t pull up right by where any shots will be taken.  How prominent is the vibration function?

Based on what I know about GPS, Bluetooth, and the Titan Elite, I have some observations I would like to share about the Titan Elite “GPS feature”. First, the Titan Elite rangefinder does not have built in GPS and is not capable of GPS measured Front, Center, and Back green distances. Rather, the bluetooth connected cell phone uses its GPS and the Precision Pro app to determine these distances relative to the phones location, and send those measurements via Bluetooth, to the Titan Elite rangefinder for display when the screen button is pressed. Also, Bluetooth’s range is limited to about 33 feet, so the rangefinder will likely lose connection to your cell phone and GPS data when the rangefinder is more than about 33 feet from your cell phone. But is should automatically reconnect when you come back in bluetooth range.

Here is an example. Let’s assume your cell phone is in the cart (app loaded and Bluetooth connected to rangefinder) and your cart is parked about 15 feet behind and to the side of your ball location.  When at the ball location the displayed Front, Center, and Back green distances displayed in the Titan Elite will be off by about 15 or so feet. This is because the Titan Elite displays Front, Center, and Back green distances relative to the location of the cell phone. This will result in a huge error (about 15 ft in this example) in the Front, Center, and Rear green measurements displayed in the rangefinder.

That said, unless your ball is located very close and adjacent to your cell phone in the cart, one would need to have their cell phone on their person to get accurate Front, Center, and Back green measurements displayed in the Titan Elite. This implies carrying your cell phone and the Titan Elite rangefinder to the ball location, taking laser and GPS measurements, and returning both to the cart before selecting a club and hitting the ball. Some may find this a bit inconvenient.

To get the best GPS results, golfers using the Titan Elite need to understand the relationship between their cell phone and the Titan Elite rangefinder, and will likely have to make some logistics adjustments with respect to how they use their cell phone GPS and app with the Titan Elite rangefinde when on the golf course.

Some Titan Elite GPS Basics....

Based on what I know about GPS, Bluetooth, and the Titan Elite, I have some details I would like to share about the Titan Elite “GPS feature”. First, as most of you know, the Titan Elite rangefinder does not have built in GPS and is not capable of GPS measurement to the Front, Center, and Back of the green. Rather, the Bluetooth connected cell phone uses the Precision Pro app and phone GPS to determine these distances relative to the location of the cell phone. Those measurements are sent via Bluetooth, to the Titan Elite rangefinder which can then be displayed when the Screen Button is pressed.

Also, Bluetooth’s range is limited to about 33 feet, so the rangefinder will likely lose connection with your cell phone if the rangefinder is more than about 33 feet from your cell phone. But it should reconnect automatically when you come back into Bluetooth range of your cell phone.

Here is an example. Let’s assume your cell phone is in the cart (app loaded and Bluetooth connected to the Titan Elite rangefinder) and your cart is parked about 15 feet behind and to the side of your ball. When you are standing at the ball location, the Front, Center, and Back of green distance displayed in the Titan Elite will be off by about 15 or so feet. This is because the Titan Elite displays Front, Center, and Rear distances relative to the location of the cell phone, which is in the cart about 15 or so feet away from your ball location. In this example, 15 ft is a huge error.

That said, to get the most accurate Front, Center and Rear of green measurements, golfers using the Titan Elite GPS feature need to understand the relationship between their cell phone and Titan Elite rangefinder. Simply put, the cell phone is the brain, and the Titan Elite is a dumb device that displays the GPS data that has been sent to it from the cell phone via Bluetooth. It’s that simple.

Some people may find this inconvenient having their cell phone on their person when using a rangefinder. Me, I will carry my cell phone in my pocket when taking these measurements and return the phone and rangefinder to the cart before selecting a club and hitting the ball. The Titan Elite is much too valuable a tool to quibble over this minor inconvenience.

I can't stand my phone in my pocket when playing. I returned mine. The rangefinder does work well when I carry, but not in a cart. Decent idea, but rather have true GPS. Not going to even consider walking to bal, then back to cart and back to the ball.

Why did you choose such a large font? Did you write this in Word and copy/paste?
