I love that insert and have been on the “soft is better” train for a bit. My first Vegas showed up this week courtesy of the classifieds and I love this thing. My new mantra is “firm=feel”. It really talks to you. All that response gets put in the putting library for reference. That’s my take.
PowerCobra98
Got my Hollywood delivery yesterday. Was disappointed to say the least. Ordered with the upcharge Diamana shaft and as I mentioned in a previous post those shafts are .355 tips. Toulon uses .370 hosels so one would expect they’d use a shim to fit. Well took the putter out of the box and could clearly see the shaft was severely canted in the hosel and was way out of spec. So I had to pull the shaft and refit with a shim to properly install so the shaft would be straight. Pretty disappointing that after spending that much for a putter you get it with a crooked loosely installed shaft. Other small issue is the finish is not the same as the Las Vegas I also purchased a couple weeks ago. Vegas has a duller matte finish that does not glare. Hollywood has a shiny top side finish. I typically don’t like shiny polished putter finishes due to glare in the sun. Will see how this one does…since it’s black it might not be an issue. Pictures on the website don’t really match up though with regard to the actual finish. 1 Quote Titleist GT3Titleist GT280 Titleist GT3 3H, 4H Wilson Staff MB 5-PWMizuno T24 48*, 54*, 60*Byron Morgan

MerryTex
I ended up doing a little experiment on La Jolla. Hovlandsteined it and extended to 37” and the Winn grip. It’s added some mass and taken my hands out of the stroke which causes some inconsistencies. hitnfades
I have owned too many Toulon’s to count over the past few years and follow these threads regularly. I pass on my insight whenever I am asked about my putters or options they offer. Plus, the staff is excellent and has always helped me find a solution over the years. I do tinker with mine minimally with grip, paint or weights at times. I am a less is more guy with putting. Blacked out or no major sight lines is my preference along with a muted/dark head color. I have enough accessories for a tour truck my wife believes. I assure you she is wrong, but not far off 😉. My go to setup’s are the DB and Atlanta/Chicago heads. I have 2 Garage Atlanta’s in DB (34”) and a stock Chicago DB (34”) that are perfect for me. Of my 4 current putters I have had the Chicago (34”) the longest and will not move on from it. This putter led me down the DB route and is still my go to hosel. I bought it used with some blemishes on the under side, but that’s okay since I only look at the top of the head when putting (it’s perfect). I had tried a few other hosels and many head versions prior to owning this setup. I play them all pretty stock besides the Garage models. 2 of them I use a Garsen Ultimate grip and the Chicago (34”) uses a T30 plate. Below I have included some basic pics. I just rotate them by season primarily. The black and green Atlanta only goes out only on sunny dry days. It’s as close to perfect as it can be for me. And yes, it’s a jewel and not a tool. Plus, it rolls it incredibly well. The red version was built for the tool days. 🤷♂️ So, I was bored a few months back and picked up a brand new Chicago (33”). Yep, still in the original packaging. I had not rolled, painted or re-gripped this putter until recently. I was unsure if I would like a 33” putter after rolling a few other 33” setups with a local pro. He had a bag full of new putters at the putting green so I became curious. I thought I was at an unknown tour event by the amount of putters he had and I knew it was not Hideki. So, with the help of Preston this past week I did some more tinkering and this setup is rolling well as of today. I took it out for a session today before 2 rounds this weekend. The balance is now great for me. I had tried other weights, but the pic below shows the sweet spot for me. I will say the past few models have really tempted me along with looking/reading through everyone’s comments/pics. Preston and I have talked about a new build. We shall see where that goes with one of the newer heads similar to the Atlanta in DB. As long as they are producing putters I will be rolling @Toulon and passing on the word like I have for many years. 3 Quote Driver: AI Smoke TD Max 10.5*-Tour AD XC 6s Apex UW’s (OG): 17*-Tour AD IZ 8s, 19*Tour AD IZ 7s & 21*-Tour AD UB 7x UT Iron: Callaway X Forged UT 21*-Tour AD DI Hybrid 85x Irons: Callaway ai150 HDC Recoil 80s (6-PW) Wedges: Callaway Jaws MD5 48*S, Jaws MD4 52*S and Jaws Raw Full Toe 58/10 Putter: Toulon Garage Atlanta DB Stroke Lab 34" Ball: Srixon Z-Star Diamond Honorable Mention: Elyte Mini 13.5 - GD Tour AD XC 6s or DI 6x Paradym Std 3HL (16.5*) - GD Tour AD IZ 7s

dmeeksDC
Spent an obsessive amount of time looking at all the Toulon options and trying similar putters to help me on the mallets. What a lineup! There is not a putter I don’t like. Could put me in an Alcatraz Mini or a Charleston or a New York City or a Hollywood. So beautiful and well designed. Made my decision and have ordered a Miami with the H1 hosel. I like that it has forward CG but also stability and is not huge. It is almost the exact size of the Odyssey AI Milled Eight T, which is a touch smaller than my Spider, and I prefer the overall shape and lines on the Miami. Being able to get it with a plumber’s neck was key. Preston was very helpful and so was another Miami owner, @getair23. Thanks guys!
