LAB DF3 head weight

Curious is anyone knows the weights of the light, standard and heavy options for the DF3. 
quick google search just shows the golf digest review saying head weight 310g-420g which seems like a huge spread. I guess the distribution would be 310-365-420g. 
 

also curious to hear anyone’s experience with the heavy or light DF3.

I have the heavier head, coming from a DF 2.1 I noticed it immediately and REALLY liked it. The DF 2.1 feels light to me (especially with the TPT shaft in it) because of that it took me awhile to get used to it. The DF3 with the heavier head just felt "right" as soon as I swung it. ymmv.

I have asked on numerous occasions for headlights from LAB, each time they have said "we can't tell you a specific head weight black blah blah". At least now they have options

that certainly is a drawback of this tech: you can't just lead it etc...for more weight. I also wish I could compare a standard vs. heavy prior to buying, I don't know of any place that has enough options to sample (perhaps some CC's do but AFAIU PGASS and GG only have stock DF3s) 

 

The stock DF3 felt similar to my stock 2ball 10 (547g total, 35" about E3.5)  but without a scale can't be sure what all the weight. I can bring my gram scale, but they may look at me funny if I go in with a SW scale, or I ask the fellows in the back to get a SW. 🙂

I just bought a stock DF3 from PGASS. 35 inch Accra shaft pistol grip. Let me weigh it this afternoon.

As is mentioned in other threads the club feels weightless when swinging.

Bill Presse did mention once that the heavy head can lead to more arc and less putts made(in general) even if it feels better.  Said it on a post on fb once.  I have the screen shot somewhere.  He also talked about the 3 degree grip being what the putters were designed for.

thanks for posting that @SC-TX 88 thats about what I would be ordering. The steel DF3 I tested out twice certainly didn't feel any heavier in terms of perceived heft/sw then my 2B-Ten.

I’ve always wanted to like LAB putters but every time I went to the store the Mezz or Link just didn’t feel right to me. I’ve got a custom Artisan blade that I love and is hard to take out of the bag. I picked up the DF3 since it was new and I wanted to try it and immediately it was different than the Mezz and Link in a good way. Just automatic, swings on its own.  I ended up buying that one from PGASS with a green head and white Accra shaft. Super impressed with it.

Ive sent them a couple emails asking about “standard” vs. “heavier” head options in the mezz 1 and the answers they offered were based off the grip you choose. Because they are more focused on swing weight vs. head weight. Meaning, if you choose their press ll 1.5 grip (64 grams) in the “heavier” head vs. a press ll 3 grip (77 grams) in the same “heavier” head they won’t be the same head weight. They will be adding more weight to the head with the heavier grip to get the swing weight balanced corrected. 
 

All their putters are lie angle balanced so I’m sure they have to fine tune exactly where on the head that extra weight goes, but the point is there is no specific “heavier” head weight #. Its all based of the grip (and probably even the different shafts will affect the head weighting as well).

How can you tell without a spec sheet?

Took my DF3 shaft out. Weighed it. Head was 370g.  That was standard weight order.

Did you use heat gun or gas flame to remove it? any damage on the finish of the putter?

Any chance ya still have that screenshot?  I'm about to buy an Oz and am leaning toward the heavy head for now at least
