Ventus Black & Red Velocore+

So for those that have some knowledge of the new shafts - curious of opinions on my setup/outcome.

I've never gotten a 60g shaft to work for me spin/dispersion-wise.  HZRDUS HULK was the only thing, but it was too stiff actually.

So, my setup WAS Titleist TSR3 w/ Ventus Black 7-TX.  This worked pretty damn well for awhile, and then I wanted to try the TR line, so I went Black TR 7-X.  It's been working amazingly.

Clubhead Speed is 118-122, launch conditions are usually pretty spot on as far as launch angle and spin.

What I'm curious about, is if this is finally the 6-X shaft that I try.  But I've tried both OG Black 6-X and TR Black 6-X, and they've been too soft and higher/spinnier.

Technically, this should be more stable than TR, yes?

On the other hand, if shaving a few grams from the shaft is my goal, the 2024 Black 7-X is 4.5g lighter than TR 7-X.  Maybe I just stay in the 70g range?

I’d say in the 70g range.

I love the black 8x and have tried 6x, 6tx and tr 6x and couldn’t vibe it it(6tx) wasn’t bad. I recently switched to VF7tx so if I were to try ventus again it for sure would be in the 70g range.

Especially with the new black in 70g being in a better range than basically an 80g.

I currently have the Black TR tipped 3/4”. Would tipping be similar in the new plus? Both 6x models too.

None of them are going to be as stiff and stout as TR black.  These are designed to replace the OG Ventus line and the TR will carry on.

From what I know about the Blue Velocore+, the Black Velocore+ is not what you want.  It will feel softer than the TR.  The profile of the + in blue is softer compared to TR.  I assume it will be similar to the black+.

Interesting.  So the 6 would be a huge mistake, and the 7 would be softer than current TR.  All I want is a 70 REAL Gram-weight shaft that I can hit.  Haha.

I might go testing the new T1100..  hmm.

So actually, the Velo+ is stiffer in the tip than TR, just slightly softer in the handle:

They haven’t added the new ones to the line yet, they do extensive testing before they add shafts to their offerings. Blue should be in the next few months then red and black will follow.

I was told that shaft for shaft, the Velocore+ shafts will play a little softer than the TR shafts.

On the Fujikura website, they provide frequency numbers that you can use to compare.

I have a Red Velo+ 5R coming tomorrow, and I have been playing the TR Red 5R.  I'm not sure that my comparison of shafts in that stiffness range will help most folks on this thread.

Max Homa was one of the 1st ones to put Blue+ in the fairwaywood, Anthony Kim also had the Blue+ in the fw this weekend at LIV.

Darren Clarke had the Black+ in the driver in the Open and drove it great in the 1st (didn't see any of his drives after that).

But that's about all I have seen of the new Velocore+ on male tours..

I wondering the same thing. Hearing mixed explanations. I wish @Fujikura Golfwouod chime in and provide a more detailed explanation of the different lines and how they compare to one another.

I have been playing og black 6x.   Have used tr black 6x and now have black+ in 6x.    In my opinion the black+ is nowhere near as stiff as the tr.   The black+ feels a touch smoother than the og version but numbers are pretty similar.

I have traded emails with Fujikura and the answer is that the + line is similar to the original Velocore line, and should play softer than the TR line.

Having hit the Velocore + last night for the first time, I can report that it feels smoother, and a bit softer at impact than the Velocore TR.  I have both in the 5R.  I was also getting more height on my shots, which is a good thing for me.  My initial reaction is that I like the + better than the TR.
