Thats because it uses a driver adapter, not a fairway adapter.

Recently started playing the brnr mini and found my driver distance was too close to the mini distance off the tee, its had me testing a decrease in loft on my driver to try to gap a bit further. For reference, I started at 11*, then dropped to 10*, and now have a 9* on the way to test out. If spin doesn't drop to uncontrollable levels on the 9* I'm going to stick there to push max distance. Then i'll still have the mini that can gap to the driver off the tee a bit less.

 

Overall what I've found with the mini experiment is that i need to have a use off the turf to justify its spot in the bag. Acts as a strong 3 wood off the tee (but more forgiving) and gets decent launch for what it is. With the ai smoke mini being more catered to tee only and not so much off the turf, I think I'll be able to resist the pre order.

 

I would like to have more control with both sticks. I play my driver at 44.5” already. The td I also hear is low spin. If I am getting sub 2000 spin that would not work well on course imo.

Ordered mine… 11.5 with a Tensie White 65 shaft (no upcharge) at -1/4” to play 43.5” like the TM 300 mini I’ve got in the bag right now.    Took advantage of the 2x trade to get rid of some extra clubs I had laying around.

I’m having an issue on their site right now when I try to add something as a trade. It doesn’t add it, removes everything from the cart as well and says null. Anyone else?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

So again, perfect option if you're not sure of 11.5 or 13.5.

I was using a Mac at home and had issues with the Callaway site on Safari. I switched to Chrome and it worked fine. Maybe try an alternate browser.

I'd love to see the numbers behind Callaway's strategy here. I know they are selling gobs on the pre-owned site, but then a lot of us are dumping gear on them at way above market rates. Their margin on the newest gear must be even more massive than we know. 

 

I traded a Paradym TD driver and a TM Stealth+ Rocket 3 wood and it was enough credit to get a new $600 driver.

 

Back here in the real world I had attempted to sell those two heads and all I got were lowball offers. I threw them on a couple of stock shafts I had laying about and suddenly they're worth $600 in Calla-bucks.

 

Worst case, I'll have something I can sell for more than the two heads were going to bring.

Safari nor Chrome on my Mac (and iPhone) does not allow to select a head…..just a blank page.  Sad panda.

I think it sold out, same thing happened with TD Max before it updated to out of stock

I've always wondered this too.  The margins must be insane and there must be enough B&M sales behind the scenes to justify what they lose here.  I'm sure they get a good chunk back on their pre-owned site, especially splitting components at times, but still, I've upgraded to a Smoke TD, Smoke TD Max, Smoke TD 3 wood, 5 wood and now a mini for what amounts to nothing.  After multiple sales/trades, my points typically offset taxes and I order custom so it's shipped overnight from Mexico.  Some of the recent stuff I've traded won't be sold on CPO near what they gave me for trade.  It's actually kind of wild especially considering they don't even care about the condition of your trades.  I'm not sure how much longer this will last, but it's been a fun few years...

I think these promotions also appeal to chronic club swappers more than the average player.

 

FWIW I'm sure the OEM's all want their latest clubs showing up in the bag drop area to build a little hype and make the guys with Mavrik and Epic Speed headcovers start feeling behind the curve.

Having never pre-ordered anything from Callaway, is it normal for my credit card to have been charged?  Or does this mean the club is being  built/sent early before the release date?  Curious how their processing typically works...
