Super Stroke Putter Grips

Just benched my SC Newport Mil-Spec Pro platinum for a TM Spider Tour Z with a Super Stroke grip. 
I’m new to these as have always used the rubber SC grips.

I’ve noticed  that these grips really show wear and tear.

Any suggestions on how to keep these  from looking dirty and feeling slick? I realize that wiping them down will help but anyone have any tips to extend longevity?

BTW the new putter is very stable and forgiving. It’s already helping my scoring although I must say I miss the feedback and feel of the SC.

Aside from washing them, which helps, I replace mine fairly frequently.  They definitely don’t last as long as my SC grips did.

Unfortunately SuperStroke grips just don’t last that long.

Yeah the bag wear is bad. Mostly due to the in and out so many times with the putter and the larger grip.

I used to use the thinner 1.0 grips but the durability is horrendous. Had a lamkin deep etched on my Newport two for roughly a year with no signs of wear and that’s lasted 2-3 times longer than any SS grip I’ve had.

The OEM branded SS grips (like TM uses) I feel tend to wear even quicker.  A few years ago it took me quite a while to get used to the texture, feel, feedback of SS grips; but now I can’t put with anything else.  You’ll get used to the quirks.

Agree about the stock ss grips durability. 
 

couple years ago ss released their tour only corded grips. I got a handful and they’ve been super durable. One has lasted since then and still looks great.

Maybe it's me, maybe I'm turning into a curmudgeon(?) or whatever....  I just can't get into Super Stroke putter grips.  I don't understand the hype.  They are not for me.  It's like holding a zucchini in your hands!

 

I prefer the common, everyday, ubiquitous, Pingman PP58 grips on my Ping putters.

Fantastic analogy with the zucchini 😂 I feel the exact same. SS grips always killed the feel for me. After years of trying to find “the one” in terms of a putter grip, I settled on the Golf Pride Pro Only Red Star. I mentioned on a different thread a little earlier that I think it’s the perfect size of being a larger than the standard PP58 and a little smaller than the midsize PP58.

Careful of what's on your hands before you use them, sunscreen, bug spray, etc it will just transfer to the grip. 

 

I haven't been a fan of SS grips cause of that, the durability and sometimes sickness. With that said I currently have a Tour 2.0 on my gamer cause why not try it.

Not to sidetrack the conversation, but does anyone know of a place that sells 'Off The Truck' grips other than Superstroke website?

I love them and have had a Tour 2.0 on my #1  wand for over a year with no sign of wear.

I’m a fan of the pistol 2.0 and it seems to hold up well enough. They can get slick when wet or you have some sunscreen on your hands (but sunscreen kinda does that to every grip). I just while them off and keep going.

What I was referring to was the ‘off the truck’ line that superstroke has on their website and not the standard line (special color or not). I’ve just gone ahead and ordered one from them as it seems like they are the only one that carries the line.

An all black one would definitely hide some of the wear.  I’d definitely try one👍

Works great ride or carry, very secure the entire round.  I'm using the old school Ping Hoofer bag with dowel rod and plastic top, minimalist bag so having thick grip putter on outside frees up a lot of space.

 

EDIT: Also cuts down on bag wear (superstroke grips get stuck a lot).
