Looking for info. Tommy Armour Royal Scot irons

I have a set of 2-PW. All have matching serial numbers except the PW.  The grips are a Golf Pride leather wrap in really good shape. Can anyone tell me how old these are?  Also, could they be refinished without losing the serial numbered ferrules?

Looks like this is a Burke era golf club...Tommy Armour went to Burke after leaving MacGregor circa 1968...the Silver Scot, the Golden Scot were both offered till the mid-70s. Somehow PGA/ProGroup & Burke merged around that time & Burke made the clubheads for both. I can't find any info on "Royal Scot" in the Maltby guide for either Burke or PGA/ProGroup.....at least you've got approximate period of 10 years, perhaps a wee bit more under the Burke name.

I'm guessing at the shaft, is it "Pro-Fit"?

Thanks for the info. Yes, they are Pro Fit fluted shafts.

if I remember correctly, those are nice shafts, maybe '60ish somewhere.

 

btw...I'd just take some PB-Blaster & one of those small braising brass (or copper) bristled welding brushes....then if you really wanted to, dremel w/the purple/soft circle thingies & finish w/1000 to 3000 grit wet dry papers.

I think you nailed it on the Armour Burke years. The reason you cannot find it in the Maltby guide is because those are store line clubs. The shafts also give it away those are not pro line shafts. Now that is not to say they may not play well. Lots of Department Store lines in those days hit and played well
