The pga tour for decades made it hard for international players to join.  Now, they are both providing opportunity AND, as always, a quality product.  Liv cannot provide a quality product.

My stingers are in this with 2 days to go! We’ve played too good to not have a trophy this year. The entire iron heads need to be relegated to the Asian tour next year. One of the worst franchises in pro sports

Received a couple of invites to play Asian Tour events and has won twice

I would say just the opposite regarding international players.  The PGAT extended status to guys based upon worldwide money won at one time and may still.

 

Go bonkers on the Asian or Japan tour and place up pretty high in a major or two and you were gifted pgat starts.

 

I don't know how you want to define quality product.  Some folks love the back stories and other manufactured drama.  Some people loathe that mess.

 

If it is just quality of golf being shown, it is professional golfers hitting golf shots in a tournament setting.  The guy who shoots the best score for the tournament wins.  Sometimes they play at interesting courses, sometimes they don't.  <Both tours.

 

Eta - I am currently in the mountains in a glamping type setup without access to live golf but I do have replays.  Watching thr final round of the Barracuda and the announcer just commented there are 50 DPWT players in the field.

People always end up looking foolish when comparing amateurs to pros

 

There’s heaps of videos out there of retired NBA bench players destroying college players 

 

They’re amateur kids and very few of them will ever make meaningful $ in the professional ranks
