Cam is so talented what the heck was he doing at the majors this year?  People are saying he's like DJ - got the bag and not as hungry anymore.

He got married NY eve and spent Dec/Jan back in Oz enjoying himself, he noted that over the years he'd missed so many of family and friends significant events + local sporting stuff and he can now get a better life balance. He was stuck in the US during Covid times and didn't see his family for 18 months.

 

Historically he's been a hard worker on his game, he acknowledged he took some time away from that to celebrate his marriage. Loves his rugby league and fishing. Good on him I say. Probably effected his play this year.

 

He also mentioned that he has no intention to return to the PGAT (local interview with our Ch7 from memory), even with a merger, he loves what he's doing at LIV and wants more time back in Oz.

 

Cam's game is easy enough to work out - he has a tendency to get loose at the top, esp with driver, when that happens his ball-striking is inconsistent. When I watch him start an event I look for that, if he's loose he won't contend.

 

When he's tight at the top and he's on with the putter then he can win anything.

 

Let's not forget he has a brilliant short game, not just putting. Jack stated that he is the best chipper he has ever seen.

Apparently the final round isn’t been shown live in Pittsburgh. CW is showing infomercials and the Goldbergs. And it’s not on YouTube. 🤷‍♂️

I've watched on Youtube for half an hour, turned it off now. The music is annoying, Su Ann Heng whispers over it, Feherty is the unfunny version of himself, the atmosphere is like a state fair, not a golf tournament.

LIV events are aired at 10am PST on the CW channel when they are oversees.

 

But you can watch them live on the CW App every single day.  And on the LIVGOLF app.  Been this way for about 1.5 years now.

Are there sub paragraphs that further define ‘sport’?  Maybe one that excludes activities where fat, unathletic guys can be competitive from the definition of ‘sport’?  Or excludes activities where you don’t have to qualify to play or be remotely competitive with the rest of the participants as long as you generate clicks?

 

AK is being paid to be a sideshow in a traveling circus.  He hasn’t yet in any way proven that he still has the talent to be a professional golfer on any real golf tour anywhere.  The person who said he’d struggle to play on a top D1 team right now isn’t far off.

Ok, is the legal definition better for you?

 

Professional athlete means an athlete who performs services in a professional athletic event for wages or other remuneration.

 

You can call it a sideshow, circus, exhibition until your blue in the face, it doesn’t mean that its not a professional tour and that he isn’t a professional because by definition he is. 
 

i’m in total agreement that his game is certainly not on the caliber of the players that he is competing against nor of those on the PGA tour or potentially lower tiers than that. But my opinions of his game make no difference as to whether he’s a professional or not.

I'm not too familiar with Liv formats. My question is, did Rahm win because Hatton three putted? My second question is, are Jon Rahm and Hatton teammates?

rahm's team won hatton is on that team also hatton bogeyed 18 by missing a 6 foot putt if he had made that putt they would have played 18 again just him and rahm

How so? The team would have won no matter what Hatton did. The only thing to be decided was the individual winner who would have been decided by a sudden death playoff whose result had nothing to do with the team competition.

None of those 3 guys are going to LiV anytime soon. I do think there’s a good chance Xander signs with LIV in 2025. He was already talking to them in 2023 and Xander’s stock is sky high right now and the 2 entities will come together eventually

Well, LIV has one owner, would it not be better for their product if Rahm won instead of Hatton seeing as Rahm is their highest-priced player?

Really depends. Xander's 2 majors will provide opportunities for significant endorsement dollars for years plus legacy if he stays with the PGAT. Whereas if he joins LIV for a bag of cash he flushes the endorsements and legacy while playing golf in obscurity, so it better be a jumbo offer. 

 

It would be nice if LIV tried to cultivate their own stars instead of just poaching. The poaching model isn't getting LIV any additional following.
