What is the process?

I've been a GolfWRX member for over 19 years and this is the first time I've had to utilize this specific forum for help with a transaction. I don't know the process- what should be shared at this point, who gets involved, etc.

 

Overview: indicated interest in a golf bag last Sunday morning (it's currently Saturday evening, so almost one full week) and was told if I paid that day it would ship the following day. After paying early that afternoon, the seller then indicated it would ship Tuesday (not on Monday). No big deal I thought.

 

On Wednesday morning I get a DM from the seller asking if I'd like a rangefinder to be added. I asked a couple of questions about said rangefinder, we agreed to a price for it, and I again paid promptly. Obviously, he hadn't sent the bag but said it would go out "today"- Wednesday (now with the rangefinder).

 

That's the last I heard from the seller. I asked for a tracking # a couple of times and yesterday (Friday) requested an update indicating I didn't know what was going on.

 

Based on GolfWRX info, the seller hasn't returned to our DM exchange but has been active on the site multiple times during this interim period- including using the Personal Messenger (just not with me) for a period of time within the past hour.

 

He has an active ad with other items noted as being sold (in addition to the item I bought from it) so I wonder if others are being similarly ghosted after he has their money? This is currently a rhetorical question as I haven't yet divulged his GolfWRX handle or other information about him.

 

In theory, he may have sent the items but I haven't received a shipping notice from PayPal for the items as is sometimes the case and, as noted, he has gone silent within the DM exchange.

 

Looking for direction on what the next step might be? Thanks.

At some point post the handle so the rest of us can avoid his terrible customer service. If you make a promise like they did you absolutely have to follow through, especially since this is a pay first scenario.

If I don't hear from him tonight, I plan on providing that identification as a service to the community. I've always overcommunicated to buyers and have striven to ship the same or next day- unless I'm out of town but that is always clearly communicated. My experience over the past nearly twenty years is most GolfWRXers also do the same with respect to shipping and communicating.

 

I'm waiting to see if moderators generally get involved in terms of contacting the individual in question and/or have other advice concerning how to handle.

Same issue with the same handle.  Paid for a set of irons last Monday.  Also offered a range finder which I politely declined. Asked for an update and shipping info today. No reply.  I’ve been on WRX for way more than a decade.  Never had this happen.

No feedback, 72 posts in 2 years, and a screen name change in the past 2 months.  I get we all started with zero feedback, but at this point the risk of dealing with someone with no reputation just isn’t worth it.  ALWAYS check feedback and reputation/history before sending money to anyone.  The fact he’s been active on the site and ignoring you isn’t looking good.

Just shipped. I'm sending everyones tracking. I've been working on it today. really sorry. I put in some free sleeves of chrome softs and paid for the fastest shipping. Been going through some stuff. I havne't shipped 1 order that has a golf bag because I don't have a box yet. Sorry again. to all

I can refund or ship it tomorrow. I'm really sorry. I'm a teen and my dads been busy with family stuff and I haven't been able to drive to the post office. It slipped my mind the last few days.

But you were able to play in a golf tournament (that's what you told me in a PM before you went silent)? Did you drive to the golf tournament?

 

The PayPal funds were sent to someone with a first name other than your own (I'm not going to expose it at this point). Is that your father's name and it is his PayPal account?

 

And how are you going to ship tomorrow given that it is a Sunday? I don't know what you've told the others to whom you've sold, but you told me it was going to ship for the past six days and you now reveal it hasn't and you don't yet have a box for it (and the rangefinder)?

My friend she drove both of us. I'm under 18 and cannot use paypal. That is my fathers name. I forgot it was sunday and I'll ship on monday if you still want it. I've shipped 5 other orders and sold before on bst. I sold more bags than I thought (4) and didn't realize I didn't have enough to send all of them.

If I’m a buyer I’m filing a PayPal dispute ASAP. A tracking number means nothing. A promise of a refund means nothing either. This stuff seems like it’s happening more now than it did in the previous 12 years combined I’ve been on this site.

I'm certainly not buying what he's selling. Even if true why is he ghosting the OP (and presumably others) while still reading Wrx. If dad is receiving $ for him why doesn't he ensure the stuff gets shipped and take him to the PO? If I bought anything I'd do as suggested above and file a PP dispute and not cancel it until I received my item. Another to the blocked list.

As it is now known you don't actually have the PayPal account, I'm not confident a proper refund could be administered. I'll give you one last chance concerning getting the two items shipped out. Ship them tomorrow and ensure they are in the condition advertised and with the attendant box/paperwork/etc., for the rangefinder.

 

If, by tomorrow (Monday) evening, you have again failed to ship and I don't have a valid and active tracking number, I will follow the advice of several others and initiate a dispute with PayPal. They could then sort it out with your father.

 

Given the number of others you've impacted with both a similar lack of communication and inability to properly prioritize your time in order to get sold items shipped, I will keep everyone apprised as to what occurs.

 

I'd be surprised if any other GolfWRXers who have reviewed this thread would choose to deal with you in the future- based on how you apparently view those who have paid your family money for items you're selling.

 

Send me the tracking # once USPS has accepted your shipment. The one you provided late last night isn't recognized as being in the system- for obvious reasons.

Its my own paypal account. My dad said I can use his info since I'm not allowed to use mine. He doesn't know what paypal is.

I made the tracking number online? And its gonna update once I send it out? Do you know how that works? Thats the valid and only tracking number?

I’d suggest you consider checking your tone young fella. You made this mess, just get it cleaned up and stop with any wiseass retorts.
