I normally never respond to threads/posts that begin, "go," however I'm going to make an exception here cuz some great members posted some great putters.

First, I'll never ever forget the first time that I heard of an Anser style putter referred to as a "blade," 😂😂.

I was like, "WTF, are you kidding me?!?!?

"Seriously?!?!?"

"GTFOH," 😂🤣

My thoughts aside, this putter in the top pic, the Iconic 8802, was in my bag 85%+ of the time from 04/12/76, when I purchased it in my Club's Pro Shop with my Birthday money through my last Victory(avatar pic) 36+ years later. It made a s💩t ton of putts along the way, and yah, I'm sure that it missed a few, though I can't remember any of those, lol🤷🏻‍♂️

The 2nd pic from top is the same putter after Madison had gone upstairs in the hospital where Mr. Palmer and I were both in-patients, to get him to sign it, totally unbeknownst to me. I had never ever gotten another man's signature on anything, much less THE one club that was irreplaceable in my bag, though of the two signatures that I would have wanted, Mr. Palmer's was one. He would pass shortly after signing this putter. Rest Easy My Friend...

Also, the second 8802(R) in the pic with Mr. Palmer's signed putter is the 2013 Staff Centennial Issue Dual Milled Face 8802. A smidgeon "taller" than its Daddy(It failed the nickel test, lol🪙), this putter has a feel second to none, and I mean this literally, of ANY putter that I own, including the current $349.99 Tour Edition 8802, which I also have.

My next fave and this blade got some serious bag time, including one of my Club's, is the Circa 1972 Mac Milled Ironmaster 600 VIP. Though I swapped out the Super Stroke Pistol 2.0 after my strokes, I putted and won with the original leather wrap grip.

The third in my rotation was/is the Scotty LE 2006 Napa. Sweet putter & Superb feel!!

Finally, I love the Miura forged 1957 KM-008. It's short heel-toe length reminds me of the Mac VIP, which I loved cuz the smaller the face, the less margin for error/mishit.

Out of the over 200 blades that I have, and I'm speaking to the heel shaft design and the design that @Orchardist posted above, not the 125+ Anser designed "blades" that I own, there is on only one OG for me...

For one putt, one putter????

8802

All Day, Every Day, 7/365!!

Stunning putters thank you for sharing! What I’d do for a few rolls with that Miura also!

If the Anser counts as a blade, then I'm going to have to add the Zing / MyDay shape.

Either with the short slant or the plumber's neck, it's just such a great feeling and looking putter to me.

I'm gaming the Bettinardi BB5, but I also love the Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Laguna and Laguna 2.5, as well as the Ping Zing BeNi in a tumbled satin finish.  In terms of feel and sound, the BeNi beats them all imo.

Up till last year Napa style putters terrified me. Now I feel weird playing anything but true heel shafted blades. Here’s my favorites….so far

IMG_4098.jpeg.778ab9650b9f0324243693a262b7aaf3.jpeg

IMG_4096.jpeg.b0cbc7f7cf575893259bd66b3988ef59.jpeg

Right to left. Painted Scotty was my longest used putter but has gotten kicked out of the bag. Can’t get myself to part with it. Every once in awhile I hit a few with it to appreciate the beauty of the others even more.

Real 1964 Wilson 8802. Very new to me and still adjusting to it but very special! Long at 35 inches and original skinny leather grip is the adjustment, skinnier than even a PING man grip. I don’t dare change that or anything else about it but I plan on putting a wrap over it. Pretty lightweight overall so great on fast greens.

Wilson Staff 8882-my regular gamer now. Weight wise in between the Scotty and the others. Definitely heavy-ish for a Napa style. Really seems to get the ball rolling quickly cuz the ball rarely hops. Might actually be something to the manufacturers milling claims. Possibly the immediate predecessor to the most modern milled 8802?? Think it was made around 2010.

MacGregor Colokrom Ironmaster 907C. Unsure if this is an original 1950’s putter but I really like it. Not as much offset as the others or I’d really really like it. The copper face feels very unique.

MacGregor Jack Nicklaus George Low 600. One of the 1980’s replicas of what Jack made all his money with. Good weight to this and I’ve putt very well with it whenever I’ve put it in the bag.

Ray Cook Classic Plus II- you just never know till you try them. I found this for a few bucks at a thrift store. It cleaned right up and turns out it’s a wonderful little very lightweight putter. This is the putter for super scary greens.

After 20 plus years of using the Odyssey White Hot Tour #1 putter, I retired it and moved on to a Ping 2024 Anser 2. Changed the grip and the lie to a bit flatter and I love how it games for me.

Probably the Isoforce Anser (Ti pixels). Just something about the shape, feel and weight that suits my eye.

I still think amongst the 7 or so blade putters I have, the SC Mil Spec gives me the most joy. Do I putt best with it? I’m not sure, but golf isn’t all about score

I agree. After years of mallet experimation, I’ve got the Mil-Spec back in the bag and I’ve got my mojo back.

I’ve gone down this path a bit and for “true blades” a lot of it comes down to preference for the 8802 or 600 profile. I prefer the more squat 600 and this $7 Play It Again Sports find is a gem:

#1 would be the Tad Moore 1st production run Circa 1988 LE(30/240) Tour S "Shorty." Sublime feel👌🏼.

I love Tad’s putters as well. I started out going through a few of his Maxfli TM series, ultimately settling on the Anser style TM-11. I absolutely love the feel and thought the carbon steel material was the key, so I bought a few more. Unfortunately none have the same heavy, dense feel at impact as the TM-11. (All head weights are the same) Why? Well, if you look at the cavities closely: both Pro putters have a deeper cavity. This translates to a thinner wall or face, and a more springy feel. Live and learn! My perfect putter would be a Pro 1 G stripped raw with a smaller cavity and thicker face.

Bullseyes and ping o-blades. For me the o blade is everything great about the bullseye but just a little… more? If that makes sense. I built two intending to game them this year but then something came out of left field and into the bag and isn’t going anywhere. Also really like my seemore mfgp SS platinum but it’s a little too heavy for my liking but I know others are really into that.

When I was younger I played with an old boy all the time that used an O-blade. He would pop it online and start smiling and then chuckle when he made a putt. Which was almost every putt he hit. It was amazing. Those putters roll it so good. I used an A blade for several years way back when

I need to do this. Traded my 350g to my brother for the 330g 5+ years ago and then sold the 330g when I started messing with mallets. I feel like an idiot for selling that one but more so my SS Newport Beach in high school.

I was very fortunate last year to be able to purchase the Newport 2 Triple Black. I absolutely love this putter. I previously used a 2003 or 2004 Newport 2.5 Studio Stainless.

I really like the 8802 style putters as well, but have never used one in a round...although I did happen to pick up a Rife Bimini putter that I found used for $35 at a Golfsmith back in 2011 or so.
