My apologies, you're correct. I guess I just honed in on the V1 data since that's what I play. I don't want anymore spin so I'm likely going to stay in the '23 model. Of course I will test them for myself before making the final decision.

And I am on the other side of the fence. I need a “tad” more spin, but the ‘23 V1X spins just a little too much. Sounds like i will like the new model, but I do not prefer a firm feeling. I hope they are not too clicky.

Looking at your data both '25 balls spin more than the '23. Guess I'll be staying with the '23 because I don't need more spin.

Thanks for posting, I really appreciate it!

I see it differently. It looks like the ‘25 Pro V spins more than the ‘23 Pro V1, but the ‘25 ProV1X spins less than the ‘23 Pro V1X.

It looks like they are bringing the V1 and the V1X closer together.

IHMO, in a 23 model vs 25 model there’s almost no difference between the balls where spin is concerned. A few hundred rpm isn’t game changing when you’re hitting short irons. Strike quality could easily account for the modest difference in spin on shots from 50 yards to 130 yards. I’m curious what the numbers will be on a 5i or 6i which is where most balls start to show a different spin profile.

I will be interested in the profile of the new pellets. I don't think the compression will change much. The V1 this year flew lower than previous years, as did the X. I have to believe that will be tweaked a little to have them fly higher. It would be fascinating to take the last 4 iterations (starting with 2017)and test them all w/o identifying marks. I don't think any of us could really tell the difference. Do you ?

I think what you would see is 2 sets of almost identical balls.   They seem to operate on a 4 year cycle, moving the balls farther apart, and then closer together.  This way each generation seems different than the last, but to the point I think you are making, not that different than 2 generations ago.  Slight tweaks to the aero package may improve wind and some changes to compression might eeek out some ball speed.

Recently tested Chrome Tour, not expecting anything, just to see.  Both the new Chrome Tour & Tour X impressed me.  For the last 3yrs, I have been utilizing 4-Titleist balls (DASH, ProV1, ProV1x, AVX) for different reasons, and never liked doing that.  I like having one ball that performs in all areas.

The new Chrome Tour is not only a tad longer than the new ProV1, it performed equally well around the Greens, stopped on a dime, yet gave me a preferred higher trajectory than ProV1, while lower than ProV1x off Driver, similar to Dash-ProV1x.  Also, both Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X at impact, feel and sound similar to ProV1 but better vs. DASH, my current ball.

ProV1 = 87

Chrome tour = 87

Chrome Tour X = 98

ProV1x = 97

-ProV1x = 102

Even though compression rates for ProV1 and Chrome Tour are said to be the comparable, the Chrome Tour design gives me a slightly higher trajectory equal to DASH, a bit more spin, but less spin and lower than ProV1x.  For those reasons and that it feels and sounds better at impact, it's now giving DASH -ProV1x competition.  Plus I've tested it in 2-4 club wind, so immediately, Chrome Tour has taken AVX ugly weather ball spot.

It seems Callaway has designed two new superb all - around balls.  I haven't played a Callaway ball since 2006.  Callaway is doing a helluva job while Titleist seems to be falling short in a few areas, least with me.

Oooo, I know this is a thread about the new Titleist balls; but what you've described is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I am absolutely going to have to pick up some of the Chrome Tours to test.

Don't mean to hijack a Titleist thread, But I completely Agree Callaway Knocked it out of the Park with the Chrome Tour!! That Ball is a beast and I'd put it up against anything Titleist Makes! It checks ALL the Boxes, and it's Looooong!!!

Just received the email about the 1.25.25 release date for the new balls. Video does not say much.  Haven’t seen any updates or reviews from ball testers either. Hmmmm..

The intel I got on the new Pro V1 is that it launches higher and spins more. If this is indeed true I'm closer and closer to going to the Chrome Tour. I didn't really love the '23 Pro V1 but I got along with it well enough to keep it in play.

The ProV1 has changed much in years. I couldn’t get the 23 ProV1 to show statically different numbers for me vs the 21. It sounds like the 25 might not be different.

I can't imagine the delta would be significant. It would mean the variance window closes smaller between the V1 & V1x unless they make the V1x noticeably spinnier. I don't see that happening.

Everything I have seen from testing is there’s not much difference between the ‘23 balls and ‘25 balls. Model to model, the 25 behaves like the 23 in a general sense on the LM. Outside there might be more in it but I’d be surprised if the naked eye could see any difference.

I have two dozen white box V1's. Haven't tested them on a sim and the only play I have with them was at bandon which is completely different weather, elevation, turf, ect. than I typically play so it wasn't close to ideal "testing" conditions. Did like the ball, durability seemed adequate, maybe did launch and spin slightly more. I'll hopefully get on a monitor sometime next week to do some actual testing, but I think I'm going to be going back to the 1x but we'll see.

If it did, Titleist would be nuts. It was 2017 when they told us that the X was spinnier, and always had been. But we knew better. People still don't believe it....

They bring the spin deltas between the v1x and v1 closer for a release, then they move them farther apart the next.  Then rinse and repeat over and over.  This is the way they keep making a very consistent product, but also have a little variations so the consumer feels like they are continuing to work on the ball.

not really unique to titliest either although callaway and taylormade have been trying to innovate more in the past 3-4 years.
