What Major Golfing Manufacturer has the BEST marketing campaign?

Who do you think markets their clubs the best? Why?

For example, Titleist is currently using the "How do you mark your Titleist" campaign that, according to the numbers, are producing pretty good results. Trickle in the appearances of PGA golfers that are in these commercials, and you've got a pretty convincing marketing campaign in marketing Titleist golf balls.

What other golfing manufacturers do you think does well with their marketing? Why?

I think the recent ping ads with the "easy there big fella" mantra is pretty good, and funny.

i like the kenny maine top-flight commercials, titleist is genious for putting the how do you mark your titleist feature on their website so you can do it there, but the ping ads are really funny too.

The question is however...

 

Would you buy golf equipment based on the comic relief provided by the commercials...

 

Or is there something greater, i.e., brand name? functionality? pricing?

 

My point is to figure out why certain consumers purchase certain products.

 

For example, my interest in Titleist really has no explanation, when I had thought about it. The biggest reason that I came up with however, was that Ernie Els was a Titleist user at that time. That is all.

UMMMM nike but the commercials are four hours long thurs to sunday and well nike kinda doesnt script them. I mean we all know they dont. He didnt even line up the swoosh.

Ping, because it doesn't feel like a marketing campaign. Last thing I need is another company telling me that their ball is longer (slazenger), their driver is longer (cobra), or that they throw more money to sign more pros than their competitors (tie for titleist's prov1 and taylormade's 'we own the tee box' spots). I've yet to buy anything solely based on a commercial, but recognize the impressions that they leave. Fortunately Marvin hasn't ruined me to Srixon. :man_in_love:

As as the question about authentic commercials, you can't argue that Nike is doing it right. They have become one of the most technologically advanced golf companies in the market. They were the first company to launch a squared driver which I believe the comment from TaylorMade was that "it is just a 60-90 day fad." Interesting since both Nike and Callaway are going on their 2nd year with the squared driver and it's long and best of all straight.

 

On the ball front, the new Nike ONE Black is "stupid long" as the guy from Golfsmith commented and the ONE Platinum, well there is some guy out there that is 5 for 5 with the new ball...

The Nike ad wizards are right up there with the Apple ones.....

once the commercial is on...within 2 seconds you KNOW what company the ad is for....that's a pretty amazing marketing to tie a type of image or vibe to a brand.

I would say Ping has the best "campaign" They have the first golf commercials that are supposed to be funny that are.

 

Titleist has the best overall marketing plan though. They are in the position they are in with their ball and gloves because they have a great green grass effort.

i think the titleist how do you mark you titleist commercials are good advertising, but as far as my favorite commercials, i do like the new ping ones, but i also think the footjoy commercials are pretty frickin funny as well...the one with cabrera and VJ is hilarious and so is the ian poulter one...

I think Nike has the best overall marketing. Taylormade really pushes the 'technological' side of their product and that works. Ping and Cobra are hilarious.

Well his putters are darn friggin" perfect though!
