Am I crazy for wishing the regular events did like a 3-4 course rotation?

Like the Byron Nelson has 3 courses in the same area it could swap between on a yearly basis.

I don't know seems like it gets stale always being at the same course year after yea

The Memorial, Arnold palmer and a few others can stay at one course but i'd like to see some variety elsewhere

Not a fan of any of the major venues in 2025. Never liked oakmont and don't like Quail Hollow as a major championship level course

Never thought I would see a day someone complained about Oakmont as a major championship venue. Couldn't agree more on Quail Hollow, I don't eve like it as a regular tour stop.

LOL! .... Just a couple of months ago the narrative and the talking points were about how the PGAT was losing sponsors and new ones were hard to find. Doom and gloomers were predicting the PGAT's demise. Well, here we are with a complete schedule for 2025 and the Signature events are paying the extra cash, I do believe.  IMo

~Is this in addition to the FedEx Fall Series?

Anyone know the dates for the Qatar Masters?

Thanks.

Hey @Ferguson We have a pond in the back here at GolfWRX CC. We have a pool and a pond... Pond'd be good for you...  😜

P.S.  Everyone knows that the Andalucía Masters is the pinnacle of the sport.

You are not crazy.  Many of the PGA Tour events used to rotate a bit: The Los Angeles Open, Texas Open, Western Open, Met...etc.  However, it has been a while.

One of the few benefits of the WGCs is that we got to see new course relatively often (at least early on) we got Valderrama, Bellerive, Mount Juliet, Harding, The Grove, Doral, Chapultepec, Concession, Metropolitan (Australia), Austin CC, Kiawah, Portugal, Argentina..etc. The WGC experiment started to crack once long-term course deals were made AND top American's refused to travel.

I have to think that inking long-term deals with a single venue saves time, money, sponsorship, etc.  Benefits everyone except for the "consumer" (fans).  The players benefit from familiarity.

No need to have two men's tourneys in a given week. All you going to do is water down the product.

There are already too many tournaments and too many tour cards handed out and they are forced to put on as many tournaments as possible. Make those tournaments a korn ferry highlight event to strengthen that tour and cut off these extra side show tournaments ran against majors.

"No need to have two men's tourneys in a given week. All you going to do is water down the product. "

I totally disagree with this take. Players only have to play 15 tournaments a year, by that alone each event is watered down anyway. Remember, there are 200 members in the Association. IMO

No such thing as too many tournaments, it gives the viewer options. If it's too many for some then don't watch. The PGAT will have as many tournaments as the market will bear. The PGAT is a money-making enterprise and an entertainment product. IMO

Yeah I kind of lost track of where that is going. Was supposed to be a rotation between Boston and NYC, then it went elsewhere. Is there any kind of set rotation now?

It's going to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis in 2026.

I think it's a bit blasphemous for the Western Golf Association to be hosting events in the Northeast. It should rotate between Chicago and other traditional WGA courses,

You have a point.  However, I would like to see the same opposite-field events and the Fall Series (or the current name) spread out during the "regular season" and push out the Playoffs instead.  Put some of these "smaller market events" before or after the majors.  Have the Canadian Open anchor August or September (JUST DON'T BURY THAT EVENT).  Co-sanction some of the European National Opens (Irish, Spanish, French in particular), British PGA Championship dba the BMW PGA...and (a pipe dream) the Australian Open and Australian PGA.  Maybe I am just a golf nut dreamer psycho...

Probably closest to my "ideal" PGA TOUR schedule of the "modern era" was 1995.  Two events in Arizona back to back.  Didn't love to TOC at La Costa vs Kapalua (Kapalua was still a "silly-season" event.  Season finished the last week in October with the TOUR Championship at Southern Hills!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_PGA_Tour

I am a sucker for some of the post-WWII seasons as well.  It really was the travelling circus starting in early-Jan in Los Angeles culminating at Augusta in April.

Why is it so important that the PGA tour finishes the season before football starts ? Sr tour, lpga, and Korn ferry all play well into the fall season. And most avid golfers I know play and talk about golf through the fall or all year long if weather permits. And I/we still watched fall golf even when football is in season.

Everyone is just so obsessed with TV ratings.  I hate how early the season ends, honestly, and wish it went until the end of October.  But I'm also in the camp of eliminating the FedEx playoffs and just having the money list decide a top 30 to go play the TOUR Championship too. Right now the PGA leadership isn't going for that because they think viewers really love these playoffs!

I agree with everything. I don't know anyone who gets excited for the tour playoffs but I guess fedex gives so much money for the playoffs that they have to promote them like they mean something.
