Albeit still finding your Walmart Arkansas LPGA WITB compilations (circa late-Sept 2023) = a handy resource! 

 

 

 

I plan on doing Tuesday and Wednesday of WalMart again this year (since we won't have any inside the ropes access at the President's Cup). If Lydia plays I'll sure try to update the WITB.

I'm sure she's thrilled with the results!  Before AIG, her LPGA results were Cut, Cut, Cut, and T26; T2 was a big improvement from those.

 

No player can win forever; but Nelly can start to think about a new winning streak now.

Lilia's biggest loss was Rolex ranking points.  Instead of earning 60.00 points as a solo second; she earned 38.50 points.  Nelly was one of the three biggest beneficiaries of Lilia's largesse, they got a bump from 31.33 to 38.50 point.

From a former caddies viewpoint, do you think it would benefit Alexa to relieve her pops of his caddy duties. Nothing against Rick, but might someone who's working for a paycheck actually benefit her.

Excellent final round played in proper "open conditions". LK just to good and too in control of her game when it came down the stretch. One takeaway I have, is I just wish Nelly and Lillia for that matter would just smile abit more. The intent is to still to grow the women's game and seeing the world 1 and 2 with faces liked a spanked bum all the way round isn't a great look.

I was trying to explain this to non-golfing friends. I drew a map of the 17th, and tried to describe LK, leaning forward into the wind, water spraying off her in the wind, shaping it around the Sands of Nakajima to 15 feet. Oh my God!

 

And how many here just knew she was going to birdie the 18th, the moment she got to her ball and started eyeing it up.

 

I have to feel for Nelly. A great bunker shot on 17. But the putt that followed? It wasn't that she missed it, but that it was such a timid attempt. I don't get Nelly.

Yep she’s starting to look like the Rory of women’s golf. An somewhat unworthy favourite who tends to blow up/find a way to lose and thus give us degenerates juice in the options lower down.

I am sad also about IK's "quiet" retirement. Back in the early days of my love affair with LPGA, IK's pitiless annihilation of a field in the 2017 Open was one of my inspirations. 43 consecutive holes without a bogey through the meat of the tournament. When she finally bogeyed the 9th in R4, it was her last.

I've thought it was time for Rick to step aside for a while now.  He did a great job getting her to this point, but much of her inconsistency is the result of poor course management.  An experienced looper with flags on his wall could help her with that.

probably been looking too much at how the men react on their tour,where TBH you could drop your trousers infront off them and most would d just walk past you and show no emotion whatsoever 🤷

I wanted to expound on this statement.  I don't think Rick is giving her bad advice, but professional golfers think they can pull off every shot all the time.  Good course management is convincing them to play safe when the odds of success are low.  Bogey's suck but can be recovered from.  Doubles or worse are how you lose your card.  I suspect that he is a bit too supportive and isn't stern enough or critical enough when the situation warrants.

I did read somewhere that this is his last season on her bag. He actually made a comment to my husband (who was a marshal) that Alexa "knows everything like most teenagers", and he "can't tell her anything."

Would love to hear your thoughts about Charley's caddie.

 

My opinion - she will achieve better results if her course management incl her aggressive approach is reigned in, if so, is her looper doing his job in that regard?

 

I can understand if this is a bit sensitive and you'd prefer not to comment, if so, maybe you could outline how you would caddie for Charley?

I'm going to dance around this just a bit while trying to answer your question.

 

Charley is a different personality than most and it would be very difficult to tame her on course aggression.  It would take someone with a strong pedigree like Terry Mac or Collin or maybe Jason to begin to reign her in.  And even then, she would have to agree to a "My way or the highway" arrangement, which she never would.  

 

I'm afraid the only way to change her style is for her to initiate it.  That's just not gonna happen.  Adam is a great caddie with a ton of experience, but he's doing the best with what he's working with.

 

Hope that makes sense without me being too specific.
