Ping or Taylormade for the rest of your life…

PING. Especially their player irons.

 

I've never really been able to keep TM products in the bag long.

Several times I've been swept up with the allure of PING and built a full bag with them, and every time I am underwhelmed by their performance. They're just never the best feeling or best performing clubs for me.

Most ping clubs either look boring or ugly to me, and the turbulators are a no-go.  TM can be cringy at times but they get my vote here.

One reason I will continue to use Ping products, they are privately held company. They have no pressure to meet obligations to shareholders. They can wait until a product is prefect to release it. In the past they have done just that. They were late to the adjustable hosel game. They didn't release one until they had a prefect design.

 

TM has to bring out new products each year to increase sales. They have had some great products and great ideas but a few have been a rush to grab quick sales

This is the biggest no brainer of all time for me. I’m a huge Ping fan and could easily (and maybe one day will) sport a complete Ping bag from top to bottom

Taylormade for me. I prefer the company, Ping, as a business model and salute them. I am sure they have some really good products. But I've never like a Ping driver. As for current drivers, I don't like the Ping top of the head look. Irons, I gamed Ping Eye2s for many years way back when but, looking back, think that they made a draw bias swing a hook. I did like the Ping 1-iron, great tee club for me. Loved the TM Ti300 and Ti320 drivers. Still have both. Gamed the TM RAC MB irons during the best golf of my life, still have them. Am currently drawn towards TM P7mb and TM P770 irons but have not hit them. I would say that I still have a Ping Anser putter but my brother stole it and games it.

Ping, although I did quite like the Taylormade Tour Brassie (12 degrees) I used as a mini driver in the late 1990s.

I did! And this post got me dying bc I sold everything including Ping.... 13 Titleist clubs in my bag now and a a GT2 7 wood in the oven.

Not bad to be honest.

 

And I've used Ping, Titleist, and TM over the years for woods, irons, hybrids, and putters.  All make a very good product - just a challenge finding the one for you.  Heck, look at my current mishmash of a bag.

 

At the end of the day, as long as the technology in the heads is aligned with your current level of skill/practice, you have the right shafts for feel and results, and you like the aesthetics of what you have, you're golden.

I'm really not brand loyal, I've always just played what works and usually have 4-5 different club manufacturers in my bag.  For whatever reason, it's been mostly Taylormade lately.  Only non Taylormade clubs I have in my bag are my Vokey wedges right now.

 

I get the best results with Taylormade woods - I don't get the distance with Ping woods, they always play very spinny for me.  Also never liked Ping irons - they have too much offset but the Blueprint and Blueprint T getting closer - still don't like the Blueprint S at address

 

Played every version of T100 since they came out but now have 2023 P7MB firmly in the bag.

 

Easy decision for me, Taylormade all the way - their woods have more heat behind them and I don't hit the Pings any straighter.  

 

Titleist is also not as consistent off the face with their woods with spin and lately Taylormade woods have a better feel that I like....call it the dark side, but I always play what works and it's been Taylormade lately, other than my Vokeys!

I just got a set of 430 irons. Now have 12 Ping clubs. I have a Cleveland sand wedge and a Scotty as the other 2.

Ping and not close though had the same brassie , driver , 3 wood and 4 wood in the same model! 
 

Currently loving the Brnrr Copper Mini but over whelmingly Ping had my Eye 2s for 24 years and S56 for the last 12. 
 

Putters are easily better than TM on sheer numbers and would choose my original anser over a new spider everyday of the week

Would be Taylormade for me, I've tried several times to believe the Ping hype, in the woods anyway, and always been severely underwhelmed. 

The Ping Hoofer is the greatest standbag ever made though.

I'm moving back into a Ping driver, 5w, and putter this week after a 1y break. Never the longest, but I don't make many mistakes with a Ping wood, either.

 

Now, if only they would make a butter soft iron it'd be easier for me to bag a set of the i-series... I do think their wedges are overlooked, though, would dump my vokes for those happily!
