I knew I shouldn't have started watching the game at the 2-minute warning.  I just jinxed it.  I'm going to start the season with a -10.  LOL.

Whew... Best scenario.  Eagles covered, and Elliott covers the over 1.5 fgm.   

 

And I racked up a PP... Beginner's luck.

 

Game went almost as I expected.  GB scored a little more; that just tells me Philly D is worse than I thought.  Love played a little better, but did not come through in key plays.  Philly offense is stacked.

 

What I really didn't expect, but no surprise is the incompetent NFL plays a game all the way in Brasil but didn't factor in the shite field conditions.  All that planning just to have a cow patch.  Both teams are very lucky no one tore an ACL.

... Like a different league than the one the Chiefs and Ravens play in. Night and day difference between those two games. Faaaaar too many undisciplined penalties from both teams. Fans of both teams are in for a rough season if things don't change. I thought Hurt and Love looked like rookies playing the first NFL game. The Packers and Eagles certainly looked like two teams trying their best to lose.

So true. I was thinking the same, you have all these months to go over your checklist to do everything right when hosting your first Gringo Football extravaganza and then you fumble badly on the field conditions. Like your said CL both teams were fortunate that there wasn't a major injury to a player.

I thought the same thing chisag. Both the teams that played at Arrowhead Thursday Night looked far more polished on both sides of the ball compared to the Packers and Eagles.

I only watched the “highlights” on YouTube this morning and even those looked pretty bad. Key plays were facilitated by horrible tackling. Barkley looks like a huge pickup for Philly, though. They’ll coast to a division title.

 

I expected more out of GB.

What would one expect ?

 

Opening Day now is roughly equivalent to the old Pre-season Game 3.

... I am so glad the Refs are cracking down on OT's lining up off the line of scrimmage. I used to think protecting the QB they need all the advantages they can get. 😇 But I watched my son train as a DE, especially working on his explosion off the ball, hand fighting skills and overall strength and speed just to see an OT with a full step advantage and with one kick step already cutting off his angles. It isn't a fair fight as those first steps by both players are crucial so that 2nd kick step by the OT either puts him in good position or beat by speed and/or a spin move inside if the DE has contain help.

Last year a few of us made some college picks within the thread.  So TDK is doing this season which is fine.  Nothing you need to do from a keeping track standpoint.  We talk all kinds of football so college is part of that, but there is nothing for picking college games.  We all know that if actual money was involved we would all owe to the bookie!  😂
