Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro for just outside range use is it worth it?

Looking for something that is accurate and will majority be used on the range outside and then inside at my gym during winter (Luckily has 2 golf hitting bays that you can use whenever)

 

Obviously ideally would want to get BLP or GC3 or Eye Mini but thats a bit out of the price range so is this my best option?

MLM2 is probably not the best LM for outdoor range use. It needs to use the special RPT balls to generate spin axis and spin numbers. When used outside, it can track ball flight so the tracer and carry numbers, etc will be accurate, but the spin axis and spin numbers themselves will be blank.

 

Inside, it's absolutely the best bang for your buck LM there is (if you care about accuracy at all), as long as you're ok with needing the special RPT balls and the annual subscription ($200/yr after the first complementary year). You can even hook it up to GSPro if you want a full sim experience (minus putting, but there's some community workarounds on that involving cheap webcams).

Yea I generally as of right now would use it for range use due to fact I don't have simulator set up in my garage. Maybe down the road id like to build one but for now my gym has 2 indoor hitting bays (Just mats and area to hit) and it would be awesome to have a launch monitor for indoor stuff during the winter here in MN.

You've got a couple options really. 

 

1) The Garmin R10 is good for the most part outdoors since it can track ball flight (up to 50 meters). It's not so great indoors on shot shape (spin and spin axis), but will still get you pretty good numbers otherwise. If you can use/shag your own balls indoors, backspin (but not spin axis) accuracy can be improved by Titleist RCT balls. It can be had for as little as $300 used these days. Do not rely on the shot shape (spin axis) indoors as this is notoriously inaccurate and inconsistent. 

 

2) Used Mevo+ absolute huge step up from the R10 in accuracy both in how far it can track ball flight outdoors which leads to better accuracy. It's also much better indoors, but still not as good as an optical-based LM. Accuracy is improved by RCT/metal ball dot stickers. Can be had used from ~$1200. Depending on how much ball flight you have indoors (less than 12') accuracy can suffer on longer clubs. 

 

Given your use cases, I'd probably just save up for a used Mevo+.

I don't think any of the sub-$1000 units can accurately measure spin without special balls (i.e. on a regular range), so I don't think the MLM2 is especially bad because of that. If you want accurate spin, you have to move up to another price range.

Yea I made the decision to save up for BLP/GC3 or Eye Mini
