Mizuno OMOI TYPE 05 Blue Putter

I tested the OMOI TYPE 05 at my local shop today and absolutely loved the feel. I'm a big fan of midshaft mid-mallet putters, and there aren't many options like this on the market. I'm torn between three colors—blue, black, and silver. I'm leaning toward blue since I already have similar putters: a SeeMore FGP in black and a Scotty 5S in silver. While blue sounds great on paper, I've never seen a blue Mizuno putter in person and am unsure how it will age. Does anyone here own a blue Mizuno putter that's at least 1-2 years old?

I had one - the model 2. There’s a two tone effect going on with the blue finish but the “aged” tone on the flange was actually just a layer of tape that mizuno put on there. 
 

I'm meticulous with my putters, but after about six months the tape started peeling. I think it was rubbing against the head cover on the way in. It was actually more like flaking off than peeling. It drove me nuts. 
 

I wouldn’t go for the blue if I were you although it’s beautiful.

I had a blue one of the M Crafts, it was distracting, I found myself staring at the head more than the ball, that blue is pretty but not on a club in my opinion. I also have a silver of the M Crafts, number 1 , it was my gamer for a couple years but the glare off of it was the worst of any I've played. I'd go with a black one.

I play the Black 05 and I love it. My buddy liked mine so he went out and bought the blue one. It’s beautiful so far but it’s fairly new so not sure how it wears.

Is the OMOI the same silver as the original MCRAFT? I was thinking about picking the silver version up.

@pinggg- I've got a blue OMOI type 2 that I got fitted for about 2 years ago and special ordered it from Mizuno.  I play about 25 rounds a year with a bit of practice and the face, topline, and flange of my putter look brand new.  The sole shows a bit of wear, but not much.  I'd be happy to post some pics if you want to see what it looks like.  Another poster mentioned some sort of tape on the flange, but mine didn't have anything like that.  Or, if it did, I must have removed it immediately and forgotten about it.  I love the blue color, but I could see why some people might want silver or black to offer more contrast with the grass on the greens (the guy fitting me looked at me funny when I said I wanted to order the blue one).

Glad to hear. The tape I spoke of is the reason why the flange has an antique color to it. Don’t do it to your putter but you could damage it with a finger nail. I want another blue one and may have to go for it in case mine was a one-off.

Nothing to contribute regarding the blue though I imagine it should last a long time since it's a putter and not an iron. BUT, I will say that the feel off the Mizuno face was the softest and most buttery out of a bunch of putters I tried in a long time. One day I'll pick up one for my collection.
