It is enforced. The players get put on the clock all the time. They then pick up the pace, get taken off the clock and then slow down again. Broadcasts will note when a group is on the clock.

 

So the solution is already there and used, the players know what they have to do to not get penalized.

 

Also there are fines that have been given to players.

Not really any longer. A good thing with social media. A player being an a*****e on the course will see anyone filming it. Earlier there were quite a few players that was not so attractive to watch. 

I don't mind players being stonefaces, temperamentful or anything. Granted I prefer some players more.

Tyrell Hatton - he is precisely the kind of golfer that I hate playing with. And really in general, the kind of person that I hate being around. Everything sucks and everything is miserable. Just brutal, soul-sucking energy.

Stay with me here. A shot clock for golfers. But if they take too long, their grips give them an electric shock.

 

They can still take the shot, but have to do it with a bunch of volts coursing through them.

 

They can drop the club and start over with a one shot penalty if it hurts too much : )

No. Watching golf is simply something to do to pass time. Or in the words of Michael Stipe it's a simple prop to occupy my time. 

 

Most times it's on in the background. I don't let who is playing on screen or calling the action get me triggered like many here seem to. Seems to be many here that don't enjoy any aspect of the game.

Wyndham Clark; Slow as molasses in January. Always looking to bend a rule to help himself i.e. walk and tromp all over the high grass where you plan to drop. And his caddie using a wedge to align his putts is the worst. 

Slow play is terrible. I was actually rooting for Kuchar because the guy in front of him was so slow.

I'd agree with Harman for sure, just the waggling is too much anymore (and honestly Rory is getting close anymore), for the most boring its Cantlay probably, he's just very good and plays very boring golf, never shows emotion etc..  Which I get for him, thats what works for him.

Watched the women’s tournament last weekend and one play took 90 seconds to putt.

Okay. Did that 90 seconds ruin your viewing experience? Did it extend the tv broadcast? Do you know if that golfer or the group was put on the clock? Did it ruin your day, week, month?

 

LPGA is usually pretty strict in their enforcement of slow play…see Carlota Ciganda.
