LM $700-$2k

Been looking at the Rapsodo but keep hearing negative reviews on app connectivity. Almost pulled the trigger but seems jumping up in price might fare better. If the budgets $700-$2k is there a LM in that category that range a lot of you would lean towards?

Are you looking for more game improvement or simulation? Hard to beat the MLM2 pro for accuracy in that price range if you use the marked up balls. Disconnects was a big issue for awhile but I think they have addressed it.

If your focus is more game improvement take a hard look at Sky Trak Plus or Mevo plus.

I like that the sky track+ gives metrics for swing path. Would you go sky track over the mevo?

Sky trak plus is supposed to be usable outdoors from mats (only). More common to choose Mevo Plus for that use case since it can be used off grass too. For M+ you do need 8’ behind you to place the unit. You have that?

love my mlm2pro.  most issues are from poor setups.  the biggest culprit is poor internet/wifi signal where the launch monitor is.  i use an at&t hot spot that my work provides and have not had any issues using the 5g signal inside a metal garage.

Yeah that’s good to know. Tmobile 5G is insane where I’m at.

Square golf launch monitor is worth checking out if you're still looking. $700, no subscriptions, GSPro and E6 connectors. Cheapest photometric device on the market, provides ball and club data too. Check out some of the reviews on Youtube.

If you're planning to use it on the range, its hard not to go with a mevo plus. You're going to have to go over that $2k amount though if you want all of the ball and club data unless you can get a used one that has it enabled already

I use the SKT+ on the range, with an iPad and a magnetic iPad holder.  It works really well off mats and travels easily in my sling like bag. Setup is cake. The SKT+ can be had for about $2k directly from SKYTRAK when winning their weekly auction.

The SKT+ is good at both sim and game improvement - the software for game improvement is really top notch.

Checking in on his topic. Are most still on the MEVO + train in regards to best for outdoor range use that includes both ball and club data? And can it be hit off the ground our mats only?

I've used my MLM2Pro at the range and I'll say that it's really nice to have the swing videos to match up to the data. Watching the swings and looking at the ball impact usually explains good or bad swing data pretty well.  Connection was shaky early on, but has improved with newer software releases.

 

Example from earlier this year when I was trying to understand a duck hook and was able to compare swings and impacts. Would be awesome to have face angle data, but I can see that it's closed and that I wasn't close to the sweet spot.

MEVO plus for accurate data outdoor and indoor IF you have enough Space for the ball to travel till the net / screen. 
Garmin R10 as Budget Version of the MEVO Plus. 
Skytrak I would not consider for using outdoor, even with a mat, it is still sensitive on light / Sunshine.

Get a BLM or Mevo+

Just make sure the range you use has 8+ feet behind the hitting area clear for the Mevo + to work. Some ranges might not have this space available.
