Any TM Spider Tour Z Love?

I played a Newport 2 for 15+ years before picking up a Spider Tour Z this spring. I was trying to talk myself into a Tour X, but the Tour Z rolled so much better for me. My confidence from 5 feet and in has never been higher, and I'm making far more birdies from the 15-20 foot range.

 

The Tour Z has changed my game to the point that I feel relief as soon as I'm on the green. I still 3-putt here and there, but I don't dread lag putts anymore.

 

Is it just me?? I feel like I don't see any chatter about the Z, and Shane Lowry is the only pro I've noticed using it. Just wanted to shout it out even if it's not a popular model.

The Z is probably my favourite of the current models.  Generally I gravitate towards Spiders when I'm putter shopping but haven't pulled the trigger on a new model yet.

 

Anxious to see what they bring out in 2025!

This has been one of the more successful 'Spider' line ups in recent memory and I suspect there won't be dramatic changes apart from some new colour choices (Perhaps releasing Rory's new 'torched' version) and perhaps more personalization options as well...

 

Can't see them killing these for completely brand new models at least for 2025 considering this is first lineup in years that has seen significant interest from the pros (Literally almost none played the 'GT' models a couple of years ago).

For me, the V is the more intriging head shape. Kinda in the same boat as the Z but even more obscure. TM doesnt really make it clear how the Z and V differ besides straight up looks

What made the Taylormade GT's = "junk"? 

Did see some LPGA pros (eg Brooke Henderson) with the GT putter for awhile.

 

The "GT Max" (with the sliding weights) looked appealing to me (but i could imagine the multiple moving parts might create additional failure-points / noise)

IMO they lacked the traditional high MOI feel that other spider models putters have.  (original GT not GTX or GT Max).

They’ve actually put out lots of info on how each head has a different CG and different MOI. You can choose what you want. The heads are very different in feel. The Z and V are going to feel the most familiar to blade players. Below is from Golf Monthly:

 

Choose the CG location and MOI of your putter

Tons of golfers now get fit for drivers and irons but TyalorMade want fitters to tailor more putters to golfers too. So the five-model Spider Tour Series has been specifically designed to give fitters CG placement options, toe hang choices, and different levels of MOI. 

TaylorMade swear a deep center of gravity is essential for upping forgiveness (something Cleveland and their Frontline Elite putters would argue against), but between them, the five new Spider models have CG locations ranging from 27 to 38mm deep. There’s also a choice of either a small slant hosel or double bend set-up so golfers get the opportunity to choose which best suits their straight or arcing stroke.

Love my Spider Tour Z and wish I didn't. My Scotty Jetsetter and Bettinardi 25th Anniv. SS8 are so much cooler but the Spider works better for me. Function over coolness I guess.

Yes, a few pros beyond Brooke used them (She's not a great example considering how crap her putting is)...

 

Dustin Johnson used a couple of variants of the GT:

Chad Ramey used the GT Notchback for quite a while, dropping it for a PXG mallet but I believe is back using the GT mallet in his bag today. I had the Notchback in the back for a bit, but I wasn't a fan of the lack of adjustability as well as the 'fluted feel' shaft was a flop for sure.
