I called. The weighting in the Zero Series heads are designed to make the zero torque toe up. I asked if I could switch the weights to achieve the same results and Andrew said they were working on that.

I was able to demo the Z5s today and it was seriously impressive.  This type of putter is basically built for my claw stroke, but I never liked the look of the other “zero” designs, they always seemed closed. For whatever reason it took a lot less time getting used to the look with this putter.  Unbelievably stable on the stroke and the strike.  I was intentionally making terrible contact and I don’t know why but this putter almost rolled it better when I did that (that may be more of a critique of my “good” putts…).  To seal the deal I ended the session by making 11 15-footers in a row.  I handed it back to the guy and said “this is f’n ridiculous”.  
 

I’ll have to reserve full judgement when it’s in the bag, but based on initial impressions this putter is easily the best demo experience I’ve had with any golf club, and that’s a big sample size.

I “custom” ordered a Z5s on November 11th at 34” and 1° up and it still hasn’t shipped out yet

Picked up a 38" Tour Spec Zero Z1 today. Coming from a 35" LAB DF3. My back is getting too tight to practice much with a shorter putter and I thought the Evnroll was way more stable than the equivalent Odyssey Cruisers etc. Plus, I'm already used to looking down at fugly.

 

In the usual way with a new putter, I made everything I looked at on the practice green. We'll see how it does on the course.

Z5 looks interesting but that backwards hosel... A bit too out there for me

I hit a few evnroll zero's at golf Galaxy yesterday.   I think the backwards hosel is easier to swallow then the crazy angled stuff from lab.   

 

I also like that it feels better than most center shafted putters.   I always felt that the center shafted stuff felt.... Wrong.   These don't have that sane issue.

I' getting used to it but it really feels more stable.

Just picked up the z5s and love it. Coming from a SC futura 6m. 
 

Question for all the pros, if I change the grip of my z5s to a gravity grip, will it change affect the 0 torque? I understand the head will probably feel lighter which is a big concern for me as well, but I’m really curious if the gravity grip will  help square the putter face even more

It will not. I asked their support if that or shortening the putter will change the torque, and they said no.

What about adjusting the lie angle? Could that affect the zero torque?

I looked up on their site the custom order options and the lie angle you can order is 69-71. So I suppose you can’t get any flatter than 69 or upright than 71, but the lie angle can be adjusted.

It can be adjusted but without changing the length of the hosel to match the different lie angle you would be significantly altering the balance

Just had mine measured- it’s at 69* and all the toe wants to do is point straight up. Do the spinny thing and it goes toe up right away- even sits that way in the bag with the head over on. I don’t think the mad scientist Guerin Rife would make them adjustable 2 degrees from 69-71 and not have them stay zero torque.

Like I said it has to accounted for in the length of hosel.  I’m 100% sure if you custom order it they have different hosels for the different lies.  That doesn’t mean you can just bend it and get the same result.

There are only 2 different hosels: the Z1 has a shorter hosel and the 2 and 5’s are exactly the same length. Mine is 69* and has the standard 2 and 5 hosel.

Not gonna lie, but without adjustable weighting like Lab, there’s no way to perfectly balance the head for lie/loft alterations. The shaft has to point directly through the CoG to be ZT or like Lab. You’d have to mess with the heel/toe weighting, to rebalance for lie adjustment. 
 

Now, with that said. 1-2* of adjustment in itself might not even change how the putter works for YOU. It will just be slightly out of “perfect”.

You 100% sure?  Your need a micrometer to measure them.  And if they are the exact same length than only one of those lie angles is actually zero torque.  I literally build this style putter every single day, and have been doing heel shafted versions well before Evnroll did.  The geometry is what it is

 

 

these lines are difference between 69* and 72*. Even a 1 degree difference will change things quite a bit
