Heaviest HZRDUS wood shafts

I'm putting together a 9 wood experiment and am looking for a shaft to use. I use the og hzrdus yellow in my fairways, 76 in 3w, 83 in 5w and love them. I'm looking for somthing a little heavier. But as far as I can see there isn't a hzrdus shaft that is over 80ish grams? If anyone has any options for a similar profile shaft or another direction I should go I'd appreciate it.

I would recommend the Yellow 83 with 10+g of lead tape under the lower portion of the grip.

I use a Smoke Blue RDX 80 TX, which is 88 grams.  I use it with a 5 wood that is shortened 1.5 inches.  I believe that the smoke blue is the successor to the yellow, so it could definitely be a good option.  I play a smoke blue 6.5 with driver and x100's in my irons, and the TX feels fine.

There are 90g and 100g hybrid shafts out there. Maybe check out shaving down a hybrid shaft if its for a 9wood. Can your fairway take a .350" shaft/adapter? if it has to go to .335" you could try a .355". If it can take a .350" shaft and/or adapter that can easily be shaved down to from .355" or .370".

I thought about this, though it isn't usually recommended. I'll be using an M6 head, so bonded head

Accra makes shafts >90g 

 

TZ Five is 100g

TZ Six is 90g

 

i have a Accra Tour Z x485 M5 (90g) that I put in a (failed experiment) Mini driver, then a (2nd failed experiment) 7 wood.

Why didn’t they work out for you?

I did this with a Grafalloy Blue, back in the day.  60-something gram shafts have never really been something that works for me, so I had to load this one up just to be able to use it.

It worked ok in my Driver, and mini,  but it was a bit too stiff for me since it was a M5 flex (which is like their X or TX) so I put in the same shaft in the mini that is in my driver (Aldila Xtorsion Copper 60TX which plays about a flex softer than the Accra Tour x485 M5, the Aldila is the softest TX I’ve ever played, again  I’m not a TX guy)

 

the ACCRA  just didn’t work for me in the 7w, maybe the profile, since I tend to hit down on my woods……. I found that I just couldn’t time it right, so I hit a few worm burners, and that was it for me, so I switched to a Veylix Rome 888 Wildeye which I like a lot. 

 

As far as the ACCRA Tour Z x485 M5, it was very linear and smooth, but I prefer a bit of kick at the bottom. 
 

If the ACCRA were a M4 (stiff flex), I’d probably have kept it in my driver or Mini,  at least kept it as a back up to the Aldila. 

 

IF you are more of an X-stiff guy in most shafts, the ACCRA is great at M5, but too stiff for me

 

Tony Finau played the ACCRA TOUR Z X485 M5 when it came out, its definitely a premium shaft, but I’m no Tony Finau 😝

It's a great option to increase shaft weight without changing anything else. I mentioned under the lower hand because that location doesn't affect SW for those who use it. It WILL increase MOI a bit though. If you use MOI matching, put it on the very end of the shaft or use a b u t t weight.

Denali Black 80 6.5, tip for a 6 wood (in between 5 and 7 tipping). It will soften it up a hair to give you a bit more kick like the Yellow has but maintain the weight profile. Aldila made an Xtorsion Green 80tx that is 88g, the Copper which I play in my driver is counterbalanced/high balancepoint, the Green is not

 

The Copper is similar to the OG HZRDUS Yellow, I think the green is a touch more active in the tip and not counterbalanced, people said it felt similar to the Copper in the thread…… if it can still be found. Lots of guys were playing it in their fairway woods in 2018?

The Hzrdus Smoke Green RDX 85 TX is about 88 grams and is very stout, just like the Hzrdus Yellow it is slightly counterbalanced so this could be one of your best options.

There are 95g HZRDUS wood shafts out there, I’ve owned OG Black and T1100 versions, but I’ve never seen them in any other models. They’re tour parts that are tough to come by. 
 

If your prefer more kick like the Yellow then there are some Tensei Pro Blue 90TX’s on eBay and the Diamana BF 80TX is a 90g shaft uncut. Ventus 9x’s aren’t too tough to come by either.
