I didn't worry about it looking great because I use it in my garage but it works well. 

 

I get the angles close enough and since it's wood I can indent the wood a bit to get it perfect. You could really do a hole for every club in your bag if you wanted.

 

And if you mess up, just cut another section of 2x4 or 2x6.

 

I might make a nicer one that I sand and stain for the range.

I just drilled the angles close enough and since it's wood and impressionable I just pressed the alignment rods into the wood to achieve the correct angles for my irons/woods/wedges.

 

It's very rudimentary but it works.

@ziggy34690, Hi I have been following this feed and also left a comment on your printables, but I'll post it here too. Just some questions about the print.

.20 layer height, i personally don't use anymore than a 70% infill as that works for me. The holes are 8mm ( 0.32")pre printing, so you may have some shrinkage depending on filament. So as long as the diameter of your alignment stick is less than 8mm ish you should be fine. I have a bunch of ASA that I'm using, But PETG should work fine.

 

As far as the size, I created the design using mm and NOT inches. I have had issues with other print files when importing files into the slicer. I use orca slicer.

 

You can send me a gcode and I can look at your settings to see if I can help you with your print. I created it to fit on a A1 mini build plate, so it should be able to run on most printers.

@ziggy34690 Thanks, Im using bambus slicer right now, I have my .02 nozzle on my P1 currently but can switch it back to the larger one. Im still rather new so all my filament is basic PLA. I am unsure of how to send Gcode and really how to fully configure supports for this but I will make another reply with that info. Thank you for taking all this time to create this and distribute it to us.

Hello, I printed the golf brick but the alignment stick I purchased from amazon would not fit. Do I have to print my own sticks or are there thinner alignment sticks out there?

I have alignment sticks that range from 5ish to 8mm. I tried coming up with a nominal size hole size but you can print the sticks, or try and sand down your current stick.

 

when i get a minute I can try to modify the holes, if enough people are having issues.

 

You can also scale the part, based on the shrinkage of your filament. 1 to 2 percent should be adequate to allow for the changes in tolerance.

if any of ya'll want to post what diameter alignment sticks they have, I can take an average basis and modify the design as needed. mm measurement would be easier to dial in than inches. 25.4mm is equal to 1"

Sorry my tape measure doesn’t have mm option but there are the dimensions in inches.

Ive got some calipers, the rod itself clocks in at 8.1mm and the black tip is widest at 10.3mm. So it should scale completely fine? What options did you choose for supports? just trying to see if I need to use tree supports or if the overhangs wont actually be a problem

for those that want to try to print their own. A Prusa Mk3s can do it, a Bambu P1s/XC1 can do it. Don't know the cheaper options but these two printers I've had a lot of success over the years.  

 

The cheaper printers have a learning curve especially around the first layer calibration.

Thank you for the file, but for some reason. The 9mm stl file is too large for the bed and when I attempt to scale it to fit, no model shows up at all.

Hey Ziggy,

 

Had a friend print one out for me and then cut up some old lead shower liner my dad had lying around to weight it down. Gave it a quick test before my simulator league and it works great with driveway marker sticks I picked up at Home Depot.

 

Only improvements I can see would be to add the club type, which I see you've already done. I also notice the blue brick has a wedge launch angle hole but I'm assuming from watching the drill videos it's just a vertical slot so I could probable use the tent peg hole you've put in. Also the LH 25° Inside is redundant, lefties can just turn the box around, not sure if that would add space underneath for a larger weight container box? 

 

Thanks so much for all the design work you put in and for providing the file, my Dad was interested in it too when I showed him so I'm having my friend print one out for him as well.

RE: 3D printers, any FDM machine on the market can handle simple stuff like this in PLA/PETG (just pay attention to build plate size). If you want to print in higher strength/temp materials, you'll need an enclosure & possibly a heated chamber - but that isn't needed for this. 

 

I think mb123 has a BambuLabs printer with multi-material system for the labels/letters to be printed in white. Fancy stuff 😉

The alternate way to do it is swap filaments at a specific layer height. My plan is to just hit the raised letters with paint on a q-tip. 

I would be interested in buying one of your 3D creations as long as the price is not $150!

They are both similar. Tour Aim has an added club face alignment device and also can be used for putting. Trottie on YouTube uses it a lot. 
 

Why Golf also has the alignment disc an disc lite which both provide swing plane training.

I just stumbled across this thread after seeing the blue brick commercial. I printed a copy over the weekend on my p1s but some how had an issue with the lettering when slicing where some letters are just missing or aren’t overly legible. Any Bambu users have a suggestion on what may have went sideways? I couldn’t get the 9mm version to work at all.

Sorry, the 9mm got corrupted somehow, I will re-upload it when I get a chance. Not sure on why the letter is doing that either.

Hey all this thread is awesome. I printed the base in my Ender without issue but have tried 4 times the actual brick and after the first few layers it totally messes up. I’m using PLA and can’t get it to work despite the parameters everyone has tried. Can someone please help?
