Ping new irons, when?

Anyone know when Ping is coming out with new irons?  I assume Jan 2025? thks

G440 irons will be coming out around Feb 1 alongside their new wood line. No mention from the rep of any other lines being updated/replaced at this time.

I would think that a New version of the I230's would be in the works.

The Blueprint S and T are the new version of the Blueprint. They have not been out a full year even, so no way Ping is coming with a new one in 2025. Plus, the Blueprint S is a winner, about perfect in head shape and size IMO. Way more playable CB versus the original. In the bags of a lot of pros. 
 

The i530 also will not be updated anytime soon. Another 2024 release that is doing well. I was at Second Swing on Monday and they had 1 set of new Blueprint S in stock and zero i530s. 

There are multiple reports from those who have seen it that the G440 iron coming out next year looks great.

It will prob be a bit. The i230's came out on Oct. 25, 2023 and the shortest cycle for the i series is 18 months. It can be as long as 3 year on the i line.

Heard they are the best looking GI irons so far ever released by Ping.  No pics available.  I was told we will be shocked how great they look!!!

 

I'm guessing we will see them released for sale some time after the PGA Show in February.  That's what I recall that they usually do.

Ping rep told me last week that he anticipates it will be replaced sooner than it has been in the past.

I230’s are discounted at my local pga superstore.  Usually a leading indicator.

There’s a big thread or two on the Tour page talking about the G440s. As mentioned, everyone that has seen them says they are much sleeker. Thinner top line, shorter blade length, and thinner sole. Lengths are a bit wonky as the 7 iron is standard 37” but 4-6 are longer than standard to eliminate gapping issues.

Callaway did that with the smoke HLs and at first I thought it was weird but for a slower swinger like me it worked out pretty well.

That’s weird. Ping does not allow discounting unless they drop the map pricing which from everything I’m seeing they are still $187 per iron.

I think the i230 is lost in no man’s land in Ping’s line-up…not the i210 replacement we expected, that’s more the Blue Print S. Not a true player’s distance like i530. I just think it has no place right now.

To me i230 is for a player who has enough club head speed, but needs just a bit more forgiveness, maybe bounce as well, and straighter ball flight than BPS has to offer. Also, the slightly higher spin and launch is something that I'm not sure many other OEM's has available in this category (ZX7, T150 etc.). So maybe there's enough demand for this kind of club with these charasteristics.

 

I'm not too sure about the blending benefits with the BPS as they are still really similar and BPS long irons have the added speed pocket so i230 long irons are somewhat too similar.

As an owner of i210’s, i230’s, and I500’s, I couldn’t disagree more.  The i230 is an improvement upon the i210, which was a great iron, and neither is anything like the 500 series, which is a good thing.  I just purchased my second set of i230s and will likely order a third set if/when I hear they are going to be discontinued.

right.. Once Ping discounts the cost per iron it never goes back up.  on the pgass website they still show at $1312.99.  Someone locally at that pgass store must have botched the tag. I wonder if you ask to buy a set if they are ringing up that lower price.  Maybe just a bad sign.

I heard they are unlike any G series iron you have seen.  They supposedly have a hollow body head.  I heard it described as very similar looking to i530's.  Also heard head is slightly smaller, less offset thn G430's.

 

If that's true, I'll order the day they come out!

Sounds like an i530...jacked lofts and more offset will be the differentiater? The i500 and G series sounds like the lines are starting to blur a bit.

I saw that, but it's just for that stock set that they have left.  The main price point for the I230 has not changed yet.  Check GG, PGASS, Carl's, they still list them as regular price and can order custom.

For this TGW thing, I don't know how they priced them like that, but also the custom button doesn't work for these on their site only.  Who knows what TGW is doing.

Hard to believe how tight lipped Ping manage to be. Until the Pros get them or they hit the conforming list we typically don’t hear about them. In years gone by the new irons would always show up at the British Open

It has been 2.5 years since the launch of the i230. It wouldn't shock me to see a new one in the works. The previous i2x series models tend to live on that 2-3 year shelf life (source: https://www.golflink.com/equipment/ping-irons-by-year-2944817). Very likely they have one in the works now for summer/fall release (which is when the I models tend to be launched with Gs in the spring).

The link I provided shows the i230 was released in 2022. It is now 2025, so they are at least 2 years old, no? I distinctly remember demoing and selling i230 clubs in October of 2022. Also, most of the reviews on YouTube are showing release dates of at least 2 years ago, such as this one:
