New Bushnell rangefinder for 2025?

Recommended Posts

I'll likely be getting the new Hybrid. Was eyeing the A1 because I like the small size, but really want gps. Does anyone know the footprint on this? Hoping the same size as the shift, but seems unlikely. I had the precision pro Titan but was too big and don't want to need my phone.

Just saw the bluetooth. Assuming this means it will need to use your phone and the gps will measure from the phone:

All of the info is here, except price. I have seen $399 in 2 articles, but there is a listing for the product (can’t purchase yet), shows $499.

All of the GPS data can be seen on the laser, front, back, pin, and all of those are sloped numbers if slope is on.

Is this basically going to be an X3+ lite?

Also, GPS “on board” means no phone?

Curious to why they nerfed the magnification by 1x compared to the X3 line.

Picked up the Tour Hybrid yesterday afternoon. I was SUPER stoked. The V6 was my favorite rangefinder I’ve owned, it was just missing GPS.

It is a little bit heavier than the V6 Shift, but all the extra weight (only 8g) comes from the larger CR123A battery. I figured the larger battery was to make up for the power the GPS signal would need.

Unfortunately I was right, but it’s still not enough power. I played 27 holes today, and the unit is now showing only about 60% battery life left. Would love to hear if others experience the same issue if they pick one up. Gonna pick up another battery to try, though Bushnell included a Duracell Lithium, so I can’t imagine there are much better options. At this rate, operating cost to own this model is about $1/round of golf. Just atrocious from Bushnell to ship a product with this kind of battery life. Luckily I picked it up from WWGS so I have 90 days to decide to keep it or trade it in for another V6 or A1.

I’ll try a different battery or two and report back in a week or so.

That’s not good, hopefully it was a bad battery, no one wants to buy that many.

I grabbed an A1, just had it out once, but simple basic, clear, slope, good sleeve, like it.

I turn off the GPS function after every round to reduce battery drain as per the instruction booklet. I programmed the extra mode button to enable/disable the GPS.

Yeah, I figured I would do that as well. But the issue was in-round draining which I found very concerning. However, I’ll post separately about how that has gone.

Ok, a bit of an update. The day after my original post I went to play another round at a different course. To my shock, both the app and the unit showed full battery. I figured it would drop sharply back to where it was the night before after a hole. After a couple holes it showed 2/3 battery in the unit [◼️◼️️]. But within a hole it was right back up to full charge in-unit and in the app. I just got home from playing another 18 hole round tonight after work, and the unit lists full battery and app shows about 95% charge. All in all, I think my first round may have been a fluke. However I did purchase some USB-C rechargeable CR-123A batteries that are supposed to be nearly double the max capacity of a standard disposable lithium (800 vs 480). I’ll charge one and swap it in tomorrow and see how that goes and report back in a few weeks or as necessary.

Wow these are 50% more expensive than the normal V6 Shift and nearly same price as X3+ in Australia.

I have used my new Tour Hybrid rangefinder for over 20+ rounds. I used the included battery that came with the unit. I use GPS and Bluetooth connection to my phone for each round and my battery still shows full bars in the reticle. I turn off the GPS function after each round before I put it back into my golf bag. There are no battery drain issues I have seen with this unit.

Just wondering if you have a new update on the new Tour Hybrid rangefinder you purchased and how the battery is performing. I have the previous model which I charge via USB after every round. I’m looking to upgrade but was a little concerned when I read your comments. Thanks

Hi all! No further battery drainage with my Tour Hybrid. Not sure what the hell happened. Bushnell did offer to replace it if the problem comes back. The only thing I can think of (and still worries me a bit) is the first round I played it was 80° that day. The unit was stuck on the cart for the whole round, so I wonder if the heat and direct sunlight messed with it. It hasn’t gotten above 70° since. But at this point I’m comfortable saying to go ahead and grab one if you’re interested. With the exception of my first experience, it’s the best rangefinder I’ve owned.

After reading as much as I could find on the Pro X3+ (mostly bad reviews) I feel like this is the best laser rangefinder Bushnell has to offer right now. I was thinking about getting a Phantom 3 to go along with my older Pro XE but I think this is definitely the route Im gonna go. Sucks to read so many terrible reviews/experiences with the Pro X3+

I recently picked up the Tour Hybrid Rangefinder and absolutely love it. The ability to get GPS-based front, middle, and back yardages combined with laser flag locking is awesome. I used to rely on Arccos, but I never fully trusted the numbers; there always seemed to be a disconnect when cross-checking with my rangefinder. With the Tour Hybrid, the yardages feel much more accurate and reliable. That extra confidence helped me hit more greens. I’ve only used it for one round so far, but it was one of my better rounds due to trusting the front and back yardages. Looking forward to using it more!

You connect the device to the Bushnell app.  Once connected to the device via Bluetooth you would then navigate to the settings panel in the app; from there click on the soft key function to set it to what you want it to be. Available options are below. The plus button serves as the soft key function.

No action

Toggle GPS off/on

Show course name

Toggle Slope off/on

Note: to activate the soft key once set simply press and hold the button.

Can anyone comment on the correlation between lasered pin yardages and the GPS F/M/B numbers?

I owned a Garmin Z80 at one point but there were frequent problems where the lasered pin number was wildly different from what you would expect when compared to the GPS yardages. I often saw the pin showing off the front of the green for example. At the time I put it down to poor GPS hardware in Z80, so I have had trouble trusting any hybrid rangefinder since that experience.

Do the numbers you see with laser vs GPS make sense?
