Sellers beware! ... BUYERS BEWARE (*** Resolved ***)

Warning to sellers:

I sold a 52 and 58 Ping S159 to @russian7 that were 3/8” long. In the below conversation you will see him change his position on length 3 times! He went from saying the wedges I sold him were at least 1” shorter than his (even though his we’re “+1/2”), to saying the wedges were standard length and then saying they were 1/4” long. In the end they were 1/8” off according to him. He’s adamant that his “method” of measuring is the right way even though I clarified the clubs were built using the USGA method for measuring length. He’s also completely oblivious to Ping’s standard lengths. He believes a 36” 58° wedge is 1/2” long…

Do not sell to @russian7

not the first time a Russian has been involved in controversy nor will it be the last.

What a scam, member misadvertised his wedges plain and simple!  Showed proof, Im the buyer he is in the wrong period I buy and sell everywhere w a good reputation, I got proof of it all amd filed a claim. All he had to do was offer assistance instead of talking crap he could have just offered a return but no he wanted to keep going about how he was right and I had no clue how to measure when it's pretty simple and I showed proof and documentation

I bought wedges from him that he advertised at  +3/8 in, upon opening they were close to ping stock length way shorter than advertised, he tried to argue and insult my credibility to measure so I simply took pics validated lengths next to other wedges and he still refused to acknowledge! All he did was argue and say I was wrong. No matter how you measure they are short, misrepresented the lengths and then tried to write me off. I reported him kept all screenshots and proof and offeres to have them analyzed by a pro even offered to keep them and pay to have adjuated and he still refused so I was forced to file a claim and report him, BEWARE!!

Did you measure using the USGA method?  Holding a club on the ground and measuring it using a ruler is not the way to validate or invalidate a measurement.

What are you complaining about? Those wedges on the right are over standard at least an inch. The ones on the left are more in line with being 3/8 over standard Ping length.

No they arent they are stock ping length nice try i know u kbow the guy but then offer a return happy to return em!

If Ping measures to the end of the butt cap then I would say by your imprecise measurement they are .5" long.

Holding a club on the ground with a ruler next to it isn’t the way to measure club length.

It’s not even a ruler it’s a measuring tape so the hook on the end of the tape will affect the measurement accuracy

First off I don't know the seller.

By you own measuring you state 52* 35.75...58* 35.25. Care to look up Ping S159 stock specs? They are not standard length by you own correct or incorrect measurement.

I am guessing you are not happy with them because they are not the same length as your wedges.

NOT THE SELLERS FAULT...

They are ping standard length yes when measured but they are not plus 3/8 over ping standard length or they would be more in line with any other club over standard

💯 agree.

That's just for general purposes to show him you can measure by whatever method you want as long as you are measuring the same for all your clubs there are lots of ways to measure the length and like I said I offered the guy to go take it directly to a local fitter and verify which I'm going to do tomorrow

Sure you can measure whatever way you want, but if it’s different than the way the builder used (USGA in this case) to build the ping wedges than the you won’t get the same result.

showing the length of your wedge, and how it relates to the ping wedges you purchased is irrelevant in this case and doesn’t matter.

your claimed issue is the the clubs you purchased aren’t +3/8 over lengthy from stock ping.  You should be able to get that validated tomorrow,  good luck

Correct most are pretty negligible in the differences depending on how a shop or Builder would measure but I am going to get it validated anyway and then we won't have any questions

Even in your own photos @russian7 you have other guys agreeing they are least 3/8” long….You still haven’t acknowledged that the length of your wedges are more than 1/2” like you believe. Smh

@russian7 I would suggest taking a better and full picture of the wedge being measured at a shop. This way, everyone would be able to know their true lengths. As of now, neither pictures are clear since we don't know where you are measuring from.

My wedges were ordered direct at plus half inch so unless some guy on golf WRX knows more than the manufacturer does then I would trust that mine are okay and the easiest way is going to be me just taking them to the local fitter here likely tomorrow and determine what they actually are. Despite how you measure I don't believe if they are 3/8 in over that they could be that much shorter than every other wedge in my home unless Ping is doing something way different than everyone else

Please also bring yours to measure so you know if your own wedges were built to your specs.

Are you suggesting the OEM never gets a custom build wrong?  I wish that was the case.

Ping may well measure different than others. There is a huge thread here going over the differences in how different companies measure length and that’s before you get into different shops and how they measure. You might be surprised on what you find out from the shop but it seems you’re only going to believe what you believe now.

You said your wedges were ordered direct plus half inch but according to your own measurement (which you believe is right) they are clearly longer. You stated your own 52° is 36.25” and and your own 58° is 36”. That’s 3/4” long on the 52° and 1" long on the 58° per Ping standard length. YOUR MEASURING TAPE EVEN HAS THE FRACTIONS ON IT. Do some simple math.  @russian7 is killing me 😂
