Yeah, it's weird. I hit left arm parallel twice in the backswing, depending on which part of the arm you're looking at.😬

A buddy of mine has the same hypermobility but in the trail arm. He really struggles with getting WAY laid off in transition because he gets his trail arm like your lead arm.

 

I wonder if a compression sleeve would help you limit that...without having to think about it. I agree to not focus on it with the bigger picture stuff you're working on.

Actually, based on some very simple experimentation, I can entirely prevent it by simply flexing my left bicep a little bit. That's an easy addition, since it's a condition that won't change during the swing. Just have to remember to do it. Note made.

Forearms and wrists aren't quite right on the backswing. On the downswing, it looks like I need to get my right arm reconnected to my ribcage in the downswing like in this AMG short (and other videos).

You’re worried about the downswing and posting a video about it when your backswing is still in a bad spot.

 

You’re using yours and not your upper body to initiate the swing and lacke proper rotation.

 

worry about the takeaway and backswing until they aren’t an issue anymore.

 

youre in this position before impact because youre backswing and also your lack of pressure shift

I like the triangle concept, hadn't seen it articulated that way.

I hate your feet, man. Your lead foot is maybe dead straight, and your trail foot is toe in. Nothing about that is good for stability, on top of you hitting from a patch of mud, and I'd bet at least some of the other things I see that are no bueno would go away if you'd fix that.

 

At least a few degrees of toe out on that trail foot; even a standing posture doing nothing athletic at all should have some. Lead foot should be flared as well for stability and to reduce stress on the rest of the body. 30 degrees is the magic number, but definitely more than the none you have now.

I hadn't paid any mind to the angle of my feet, but that's very noticeable now that you mention it. Surprised no one else did. That's easy enough to implement, and I'm eager to see how it affects things.
