driver shafts seems to be getting longer and longer. wonder if they they will make an adjustment to max regulation lenght

Didn't they change the max length from 48" to 46". I think the only people it affected was Mickelson and Brooke Henderson.

That rule already exists and has for some time. It's currently 46 inches for high level players via MLR G-10 and 48 inches for the rest of us as it's been for years.

https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/articles/2021/10/local-rule-usga-randa-limits-club-length.html

From another webb site:

The rules of golf are ever-changing and with the modern explosion in distance, we can expect more changes on the horizon. On October 12, 2021, the USGA and R&A took another step in that direction. Effective January 1, 2022, a new local rule gives professional and amateur tournaments the power to limit driver length to 46 inches.

Under the previous rule, all golf clubs excluding the putter were capped at a length of 48 inches.

Bryson and Dylan Frittelli as well. Likely a few others as well that people likely didn't know played that length.

This fall I gave my son my driver and pulled out a Callaway Big Bertha with an Envy shaft for the heck of it. I think it’s 20 years old. Dang if it isn’t better than anything I’ve played in a long time. I’m sticking with it this season.

I’m not too technical, but this Envy shaft is the best shaft I’ve ever played. The trajectory is killer, and swing feel is incomparable. I have to wonder if they are still making this shaft with the same stats.

Edit to clarify shaft is the Aldila NV 65.

TaylorMades?  That’s about my experience with all my TaylorMade drivers.  I love them but they just don’t last very long.

heads: ping, cobra, pxg, tour edge shafts: fujikura pro, project x hzrds smoke green. currently rocking a cheap cobra with the stiff shaft it came with hoping itll last till next summer ;}

Definitely. Hard to come up with a better script. Scottie and JT following what could be a  frosty penultimate pairing after the Prez Cup antics. Cantlay and MacIntyre might be a rolling roadblock behind the final 3 groups.

Will JT be able to hold off SS tomorrow?  I’d like to see him back in the sinners for or again.

LOL’d at how long Scottie took to putt on 18 today.  He’s on the green in two and has a good 2-3 minutes to check it out while Bhatia contemplates and executes his chip.  He then waits 20 seconds for Bhatia to mark his ball before even starting his process.  He then walks around the hole reading the putt from various angles for another 50 seconds. He then takes 20 seconds to read the putt from the line.  He then takes 20 more seconds to place his ball down, align it, and actually make the stroke.  And he misses the putt.  Weirdly, no aimpoint was involved in this glacial green reading process.

the definition of playing ready golf seams to have changed from playing as soon as the course is ready to playing when your 100 percent ready  :{

I tuned in yesterday as the coverage was just going to the side-by-side commercial break.  During that three minutes, exactly one shot was hit.  Keegan took the full three minutes to talk to his Caddie, changed clubs twice, did 27 club flips, approached his ball and backed away from it about 7 different times.  Then he missed the green on a 160yd approach shot.

Then the coverage showed a grand total of four shots, and went back to commercial.

I guess when there is only 20 players on course, there is only so much to cover.

A week or so back a very astute WRXer proclaimed that if one has any issue with how long it takes a player to putt, they are just being dramatic and the problem is them.

Im not saying you’re the problem by any means. Ur post just reminded me of his post.
Okay, I gotta GoGo now 😊
