Debating between mevo plus and mlm2pro

Hi all! 

 

I bit the bullet this holiday and got the mevo plus with pro and face impact packages. I only plan to use the LM to dial in shots and improve my swing and chipping. Current set up is outdoor with a mat and hitting into a net 15 ft away so space is not an issue.

 

Now that I'm doing even more research and realize that the mlm2 is scheduled to add club/path data by Q1 2025 (for which i'm totally fine with waiting), I wonder if I should return the mevo plus because the mlm2 with a lifetime unlock is way less expensive than the mevo set up.

 

I wonder if face impact location is the only thing I'd be missing, assuming that mlm2 does add the club/path data in the future. For that price difference I'm willing to let that one go.

 

Am I missing anything important here in this logic? Perhaps rapsodo wouldn't give away upgrades for free, like mevo's extra cost for the pro package? That said I would guess mlm2 is a more capable device hardware-wise (like the high speed impact camera) so theoretically they could add similar, if not more capabilities than mevo plus can today.

I had the MLM2 and it performed really well - very accurate. I used it for the same thing as you want to and also hit exclusively outdoors into a net. I sold it this past Spring because the app just wasn’t worth $200/year. Had I known that a $500 lifetime subscription would be offered and that face/path would be added, I would have probably kept it. Face/path was just rumored at the time and had been for a year. When I sold mine, the app was still pretty clunky. The video angles are great for swing improvement.
 

I purchased a used one from 2nd Swing that came with everything a new one had - full warranty, first year subscription, E6, etc. Paid $535 and sold it for that exact amount a year later. Check to see if you can find a used one that comes with everything and you’ll save some cash. When I talked to the 2nd Swing rep, he said that those are the unit’s people return after the 60 trial is over.

Are you sure they are adding club face/path in Q1 2025 or is that just rumored?

it's from a post on reddit - someone contacted support for some issue, and the rep said that club/path data is incoming by Q1 next year to encourage him to keep the mlm2pro. the guy included a screenshot of the email correspondence in the post so i assume that it's legit.

Owned the MLM2Pro since January. I soley use it outdoors, so (mainly) off a mat into a net or (occasionally) at my club's grass range.

• 6+ months of app bugs & frustrations
  • It has finally been simple to use for the past 8-10 weeks
• Titleist RPT balls (V1 & V1x) announced in January 2024 for a February 2024 release
  • The V1 was released in November 2024
  • The V1x is now set for a mystery date release in 2025
  • You get two choices for spin data: Callaway ChromeSoft or Titleist ProV1
• I'm glad I have it vs nothing
  • Impact camera is the highlight.

These goofballs at Rapsodo have pushed 3+ notifications for the new "$500 lifetime spin data" license to me. I STILL CAN'T BUY THE F*&#ING V1x YOU PROMISED ME IN JANUARY!!!! I am highly unlikely to resubscribe @$200/year; a 2.5 year payoff for a product from a company I don't trust, not happening. If the rumored club path data comes, I will reassess.

 

If you will solely use the unit in a well lit indoor studio with strong WiFi -- I might see the MLM2Pro being an okay choice.

 

I'd choose the Mevo.

Aren't the pro and face impact packages non-refundable since they're software upgrades? Sounds like you already purchased them, so you'd be throwing away money at this point if you returned.

I was set on the BLP/GC3 but reading about lots of issues with these now, I’m now debating one of the 2 also

Go on Bushnell own website and read the reviews
