TPT nitro vs power reviews?

Looking for some insights for those that have tried the tpt line of shafts.

 

there isn’t a fitter in my area within a few hrs driver so unable to demo in person.  The online fitting tool recommended the power 15 lo, which is actually the cheaper shaft.

I had the 15 HI power and tested the 15 HI/LO nitro.  Nitro is a bit lighter in weight from what I remember and had more feel which were the only differences I noticed.  Both super stable shafts.  The 15 line in general feels very stout and linear.  Closest feel would be Diamana PD/TR black, IMO.

@phizzy30  I think that's a good description.  I've only messed around with them, but have never owned one.  Stability is their hallmark.

What do they mean here? Online tool recommended 16 lo tipped 1” at my 110 Chs. Why would it not recommend 17 or 18 based on getting the whole benefit of TPT ++?

I did a full fitting with Jon Sinclair and we went through the Nitro and Power Range. I got fit into 14 lo in both models. For me Ive always liked a heavier shaft so we went with 14 lo Power Range at 45.5” and I have hit alot more fairways with it over ventus blk 7X TR. The Nitro is very light which made me feel uncomfortable with the weight, but the stiffness and kick felt the same.

 

What shaft are you swinging now and what is the weight for the shaft?

Read up on them. They have a general view that their shafts work great even at lighter weights and lower CPM because of the unique way they are made. So what they do in the online tool is fit you into a base model while telling you that the next two lighter and softer shafts will give you a little more from the shafts, if you want it. It’s not quite Autoflex as the TPTs are considerably stiffer but it is similar in concept in saying not to fear a less stout, lighter option. It’s up to you to pick what you want, and so it is different in not saying you have one fit and only one. They list more than one option that will work. As the shaft numbers go up, the weight goes down and CPM drops but you can tweak the CPM via tipping. It is all listed on their site. 
 

i was fit via the online tool into 17 LO so for me it says I can play that one or the 18 LO or the 19 LO and in theory, I should get the most distance from the 19 LO or I can play it safe with the 17 LO, which is what I did. I actually would like to try the other two and I’d like to try the high version. The 17 LO worked for me in a 10.5 degree head but not as well in a 9 degree. 

I play a 16 HI fairway (77g) in a 4 wood and I am going to move that one to a 7 wood (heavier head, so should soften the shaft a bit) and look for a 17 HI (72g) or 18 HI (67g) fairway for my 4 wood. The 16 HI works well, I just think I can now dial it in to optimal based on experience. 
 

They’re outstanding shafts. I hit them very straight. The Power series has more torque than the Nitro and I don’t like low torque, so I stuck with the Power shafts.

Thanks. So follow up. I am currently doing speed training. I could see my self getting above 115 but also could see myself starting the year less than 105 due to gym soreness. Would it be better to plant in a 17 lo tipped 1” then due to a range of swings I could be in depending on how my body is feeling?

If you look at the fitting chart they have, the Power shafts get tipped 1 inch and the Nitro shafts don't get tipped at all in the Driver.
